In a shocking incident that has shed light on the darker side of Pattaya's nightlife, three pub guards have publicly apologised after brutally assaulting two tourists. This apology came in the wake of viral video clips showing the violent beating, sparking outrage both locally and internationally.

The video, posted by a Facebook user named “Nui voice AnyWay”, depicts the guards—identified as Krisana Chandmat, 25, Chakarin Yanasak, 23, and Phanuphong Chanuthai, 36—attacking two foreign tourists. Krisana admitted that the altercation began when one of the tourists, sporting a white shirt, struck him first, causing an injury that required six stitches.

The head of the Pattaya police station, Pol. Col. Navin Thirawit, reminded the guards that their role was to safeguard tourists, not to incite violence that tarnishes Pattaya’s reputation. Despite their apology, the guards are expected to face charges under the Business Security Act.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assault involved a barrage of punches and kicks. The unfortunate tourist in the white shirt was kicked to the ground, and when a second tourist in a grey shirt tried to intervene, he too faced a similar fate, collapsing after being kicked in the face.

The altercation was witnessed by numerous bystanders, including both Thai nationals and other foreign tourists. Despite repeated pleas from the crowd, the guards continued their assault, even as the tourists pleaded for mercy.

Investigations revealed that before the fight broke out, there was a dispute over an unpaid bill at a bar in Naklua subdistrict. A cashier, identified only as Ms. A, explained that one of the tourists had left without settling his bill, leading to a bitter argument and eventually to the violent incident.

Although the two victims have yet to file an official complaint, the incident has raised serious concerns about tourist safety in Pattaya. Local authorities are now under pressure to ensure such incidents do not recur, aiming to maintain Pattaya’s image as a tourist-friendly destination.

When will they realise an apology isn't enough

These Thai thugs and thousands others are just itching to have a shot at foreigners. Almost always in unfair numbers, of course. They loathe us behind those fake smiles.

Im sure their apologies are 100 percent sincere😇 any news on the guy who got kicked in the head?

When, if at all, will the three security guards be charged with some sort of crime?  Or is 500 baht and a wai good enough?

An apology,  their laughing in everybody's face. It's been a thai sport for years, whoever hits the most foreigners in a week gets this week's star prize ? Paid thugs, but NEVER ONE ON ONE.

A Wai and an apology for beating up tourists and kicking one in the head when on the ground.

Stick your Wai where the sun don't shine.

Police do your job, charge them with violent assault and some jail time.

How do we know the bar didn’t full blown scam them?

if you don’t want problems in these areas maybe it’s best not to scam people.

It was the same in Patong when I lived there 6 months in the 90s. Twice had my beer bottle snatched from my table and broken over someone's head.

Who... the brit... I agree

By now most if not all of us know you don't like foreigners, which means you're either Thai and prejudiced or an anti-social that hates others because he was raised that way, and doesn't know any better. If you're saying the locals loathe us, and you're a foreigner yourself, that means you're included in that loathing. Best you just skipalong, cassidy.

One of the 'I'm more Thai than the Thais' expats.

You are truly double trouble...a Trumpster cultist and Thai apologist. SMFH.

Suppose you believe this savage attack is "well earned" too.

Hua Hin thugs savagely attack British family. Straight punch to the old woman's face, followed by a "death kick" to the head, while she's down.

This comes from having no fathers in the household, who are the ones who teach boys respect for others, and not to kick people when they're down, because it makes you look like a coward who doesn't want to fight fair. This will someday happen to someone who knows how to defend themself, and the locals will suffer a beat down that will make news. Only problem with that is that then the foreigner will look like the bad guy, even if he didn't start the fight.
