Should England be disqualified from the European Championship?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have an explanation????

The European Championship, often abbreviated as the Euro, is a quadrennial football tournament organized by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) for the national men's teams of Europe. The tournament was first held in 1960 and is one of the most prestigious competitions in international football, alongside the World Cup and the Copa América. The Euro brings together the best European teams to compete for the title of European champion. The winner of the tournament is awarded the Henri Delaunay Trophy.

I don't get it.  Why would they be disqualified?   Why is the "national mens teams of Europe" in bold here?  Which continent do you think England is in if you do not think it is in Europe?

It is a question of Geography but I think England is located on the archipelago of the British Isles and not on the continent.

For a minute I thought the OP was saying England should be thrown out because we are allegedly boring cheats and the rest of Europe hates us.

But I think they don't understand that the UK are still part of Europe geographically, if not politically.

They are so arrogant, their team was not nearly good enough to win this tournament.

Also, Scotland is the home of football.

The problem is they're fielding a football team in a mislabeled soccer tournament.

or is it......England is still allowed to participate in the European Championship football (UEFA European Championship or Euro). The competition is organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which is a separate entity from the European Union. Membership in UEFA and participation in its tournaments are not affected by the United Kingdom's departure from the EU.
