Jagkrit won't need to do a runner....he's as good as free now....just a simple matter of court approval....and that won't take long.

Of course, we'll never hear any more of this case....!

So the victims family now know that the killer is out on the loose?

What comfort does that bring?

Opportunity for revenge ?

He is accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old Sergeant Rochnaporn, also known as Sergeant Punch, a soldier from the Thanarat Camp in Pranburi.

Oh I wonder how he got the name Sergeant Punch ? did he like fruity drinks ?

Bail for a killer?

Reminds me of the answer to the Constitutional Court outcry. "Don't worry. We do things differently here!"

So he handed himself in to the police after the shooting along with the gun he used, and as stated "After finding evidence of Jagkrit's guilt, the committee decided to remove him from his advisory role". Yet they let him out on bail?????

The organization that found "evidence of Jagkrit's guilt" was just the police advisory committee on which he served. The bail decision was made by the court, which is a completely different entity.

But yes, releasing a murderer on bail is bizarre.

one has to ask how  court coulld release on bail  someone charged with murdering another person let alone a police officer,

I suspect that he is out on bail so that he can negotiate the compensation, which is the norm here.

If he does not offer enough money, then we may possibly hear about this case again. When the family report it to the social media folk.

Bail, after killing a man? And who is the 'Influential' person who owned the alleged illegal pub?

And wounding 2 others. Reckless weapons use in shooting up the bar.

one has to ask how  court coulld release on bail  someone charged with murdering another person let alone a police officer, must be either very rich, have the right family name or be close friends with the right people, anyone else would be remanded for the trial. As seen often in Thailand certain people are afforded court help in escaping charges  and the country or found guilty when innocent on trumped up charges, once again it shows thai courts/law make it the worlds laughing stock as it appears to be based entirely on money, name and associates to get to decisions

Well, for us that have spent a lot of time, in Thailand, we remember to 2 cops, from up northern, found guilty of murder, sentenced to death, and yes, let out on bail... Never seen again.

The habit of letting murderers out on bail contradicts all normal logic for justice. Especially since in this case the murderer has even confessed. On what grounds is such a killer, whose crime is beyond question, being granted freedom again?

In rather poor/bad taste, which I am sure his family and colleagues at Fort Thanarat would not appreciate.

"Punch" is a male/female nickname, like "Lek", but not as common, which he had since childhood.  A reasonable successful young female singer of 10-15 years ago also had the nickname "Punch".

Agreed, as I posted on another thread, many deep wais and a substantial amount of compensation.

However, if that is enough to satisfy his "brothers" at Fort Thanarat (who, from some very emotional Facebook posts, are rather "angry") is another question.

Not in Thailand. Tentacles reach all agencies as seen in political persecution and vendetta's up and down the country.

Not uncommon here. Especially with 'pillars of society' and slebs.
