Social Media Outrage as Tourists Blatantly Urinate on Pattaya Beach

Featured Replies

If they think that's bad, they need to go to the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan.

I only went once, and all the men were wading out ankle deep and pissing in the sea rather than go searching for toilets.

  • Baht bus drivers are pissing all over the city

  • Not condoning this action by tourists. However there are a complete lack of toilet facilities in the area. This despite millions of baht allocated to so called improvements every year.

Indians?

Definitely not Caucasian, we are safe...

They never complain about taxi/tuk tuk drivers pissing in the street, which happens many times every day, but if one foreign does, it makes headlines.

did you see any public toilets near the beach??!! .... not allowed to use toilet at bars or a restaurants..... so...

Are they really sure whether the urinator was a tourist?

It could be one of the locals instead.

So Why Not On The Beach?

Are they 100% sure that was the tourist?

Could be one of the locals as well.

With this image alone, it cannot be confirmed where he is  from though.

thank god they ignore the fact that the sewer pipes spew out all of Pattaya's restroom feces a bit farther down the beach...lol

...Pattaya’s reputation as a world-class family friendly tourist destination...

Was it?

I thought its prime target  has been Sex Tourists; with Thailand's biggest Red Light District.

Since its initial development  for US force's R&R during   Indochina War.

What a laugh - "could ruin" ! Pattaya's reputation was ruined a long, long time ago.

Pissing in the sea - so what! Pee joining turds in the sea.

Socks with sandals is a clue......

Oh. So Brits then.

So it's just shows: "Public toilets are needed at the beach!!!" And only every 4km one!!!

Thats a good point. Charging to use the toilet is a good enough reason for me to piss into the ocean. I dont blaame others for doing it

They need to clean the toilet, so why not charge for it?

WHAT AVAILABLE RESTROOMS ???

They must be well hidden.

I often do this ,because, other then peeing your pants or paying for one of these rip off beer bar toilets, that's the only option. It's a pee in the ocean ,literally.

Pattaya — Thai social media users are outraged after a video surfaced online showing male tourists blatantly urinating on Pattaya Beach.

The video, posted by a Facebook user with the caption “Swimmers swim, and urinators urinate,” quickly went viral in a popular Pattaya Facebook group with over 200,000 members.

The incident sparked widespread outrage, with many Thais, especially Pattaya locals, questioning why the beachgoer didn’t use the available restrooms.

They also expressed concerns that the tourists’ reckless behaviors could ruin Pattaya’s reputation as a world-class family friendly tourist destination and deter other tourists from visiting Pattaya City.

Local journalists went to investigate the incident scene and confirmed that it took place on Pattaya Beach. The urination occurred late at night or early in the morning on September 17th, likely after the individuals had been drinking.

Again with this bs? Pattaya has never been and will never be a world class family friendly destination. Amazing that there's people delusional enough to believe this. And as far as pissing in the water - who cares? people do it all the time, just in the water and not out. Fun fact: the smell of chlorine in public pools is not actualy chlorine which is odorless - it is the smell of piss in the water - even a little goes a long way to get that familiar scent.

Someone who is bored and used his phone, you see it behind trees or near a building.Happens everywhere and no big deal

Why is this such a big deal. It only seems to offend when it's a Foreigner. I see the Thai chaps who work on the beach looking after the jetskis and speed boats doing this not a word said about it. When motorbike taxi riders hop off there bike and urinate along the side of the road nothing but it's fire and brimstone if it's a tourist. Locals need to set a good example first.

There is a Thai singing TV program my Mrs watches each evening as I sit there. It seems to specialize in inviting foreigners who have lived here a while, who can often speak good Thai, and they are required to stand there and tell everyone how wonderful Thailand and the Thai people are... it really exceeds the need to be obsequious and fawning. They need their guests to be like that, and spend a lot of money too!

How did they know he was a tourist?

All they know if that he wasn't Thai... Probably Myanmar (or some other non Thai) working in Thailand.

I share the outraged netizens sentiment and am apalled too.  How dare he waste such a valuable product.  He should have poured out the rotgut whiskey bottle he was drinking from and urinated in the bottle.

Reingesting this panacea is what the drunks and drug addicts are seeking but are too ignorant to figure it out because their science gods have hypnotized logic out of them.

:annoyed: More Xenophobic Thai media rant,

that man is clearly an Asian, either Korean, Malay or Singaporean

I wish they would've had this same outrage when a homeless Thai man got naked and started screaming and rubbing his balls in front of everyone by Ekkamai station back in 2019.

Which world? You know it has to be satire when they drop this little nugget in there. Or perhaps it has changed dramatically in the last few years when it was still a proper tip.

Asians are also tourists, including Thais.
