November 11, 20241 yr OP. Did you try changing UK server to another UK one? I had the same trouble awhile back, and I just changed to another one and it worked.

When they caught you out the first time they would have left a bot (cookie) there .... if its just MOTD you do need the BBC as its broadcast in many other spots... here is one you can download or stream all matches + MOTD https://soccerfullmatch.com/ but there are many others... .
November 11, 20241 yr VPN IPs get blocked when used by too many people to solve get a VPN that also offer static IP, and buy a static IP that way it will just be you using that IP or at worst just a handful of people depending on the VPN i use Windscribe VPN they are great if you need static IPs or ports forwarded, i have not come across another VPN that offered as much as windscribe Tip: use a US vpn and give Tubi Tv a look
November 11, 20241 yr I have had similar problems with different VPNs. Now I have solved the problem for good. I bought a Raspberry Pi (a small computer same size as a pack of cigarettes, for those who dont know). It is cheap - like 2000 Baht - and uses very little electricity - so it is turned on all the time. I made it into my own private VPN server. Not only is this VPN working perfectly, it is also using the same IP as the house that pays for TV subscriptions - as it is located at there. It would be impossible for the TV distributers to know anything. Now you probably think you are going to be a computer expert to do this. Well, I know a little, but I have never worked with Raspberry/Linux before. I simply asked AI how to do this and that. It would come up with exact commandline instructions - step by step. I was very surprised I could get this working - but now it is. I can explain more about software, if someone wants to give it a go!

Laughable Wolf Hall 2 with black actors playing aristocrats at the court of Henry the 8th, disgusting rewriting of our history. There is only one record of a black in Henrys court, John Blank a trumpeter who arrived with Catherine of Aragon, he did not stay long. The BBC are obsessed with diversity and inclusion where there was none, they are the racists.

In Tudor England there is only records of John Blank trumpeter who was here for about 4 years, and some divers brought over to try and recover articles from the Mary rose ship. There were no aristocrats, ambassadors or rich blacks in Tudor England, to portray historical characters as such is a lie.

They are constantly rolling out this false narrative that England was always multicultural and diverse with a largish black population going back to the Romans, it's a lie and they know it is.

It is not a news report. It is light entertainment and it has some black actors in it. You guys really do get riled over nothing, it is quite hilarious.

Actors take roles offered to them. Only one of the cast of Lawrence of Arabia was an Arab. Laurence Olivier plays Othello, but you don't complain. Your history? What has this got to do with watching MOTD? And so many black footballers! Are they taking over? Our game? That we invented? Outrageous!

November 11, 20241 yr watching iplayer with nord now. been with nord about 3 years, never had a problem.
November 11, 20241 yr BBC iPlayer working perfectly using SmartDNS Proxy VPN (London 'Smart' server selected).
November 11, 20241 yr This is a bit obvious really. Says to me that you haven't disabled "Location" in settings on a WIndows 11 machine. Go into Settings (Cog icon) and then in the "Find a setting" search box type in Location. From there you can stop the pesky PC leaking your whereabouts by turning the services off, then reboot the machine so it forgets where it was too. Do similarly when you're on a mobile and accessing iPlayer via a VPN. Turn Location off first. Simples!

I looked at tailscale and ngrok a while back and got ngrok kind of working "for free" but a new user on every invocation kind of killed the usefulness at that time I didn't think to use my already semi static public IP on the ToT connection because at that time they had silently moved me to CGNAT I complained but they said it is what it is ! ( that was shortly after the ToT /NT merger) recently I discovered that they either moved me back or are/where playing some strange games that resulted in "show my ip address" websites saying one thing and the router reporting a different WAN IP..which I assumed was CGNAT however recently discovered that using the router wan ip in openvpn settings instead of the "show my ip address" website address results in a connection and so my head is still spinning round and round

No need to use Duck DNS as CGNAT is no issue.

November 11, 20241 yr It has been a while since GB media decided to use DNS and Geolocations to stop the rest of the world seeing how degraded they have become. It is not enough to use VPN for some users. Here are some ‘BRITISH’ DNS server. 62.6.40.178 62.6.40.162 194.72.9.38 194.72.9.34 194.72.0.98 194.72.0.114 194.74.65.68 194.74.65.6 Make a BBC profile in your network setting and change the existing dns with a pair of the above. Restart your machine. You still need a VPN but the good news is you can use any vpn not just those high priced one, who got wise to the dns trick before others. I paid $27 ten years ago for a lifetime one; they are still available with a search.

I just had another quick look at tailscale and reminded myself why I'm rather reluctant to be reliant upon a "man in the middle" server, having to install their app on every device...will it really be "free" forever etc etc. It does seem to offer what I want to achieve quite easily ( I'm rather suspicious of the free and easy bit ) so I'll keep trying to D.I.Y for a bit longer well till my head explodes which isn't that far off
