Trying to book a 5-star in Sukhumvit area, but all are at least double, some tripe and even quadruple the normal prices.

What's going on in the kok? Special event/holidays or something?

I didn't make it clear - I'm talking specifically about a massive hike 13-16th, not after that as prices seem seasonally normal again after the 16th ish.

5-star members won't notice a thing.

It's like buying a Rolls Royce; "If you have to ask 'how much' - you won't afford it."

Just book, enjoy and forget the price.

Perhaps Bangkok Marathon, a lot of overseas runners combine it with a holiday!

Yep, high season is here, and some silly pricing, and not just 3 or 4* hotels.  Bangkok doesn't have many 5* hotels, as self rated ones, don't count.

But yes, as was peeking at hotels last wee, and 2* hotels are a bit silly priced.  Ibis for shy of 3k & 4k a night :cheesy:  Stop ... you're killing me.  Granted the weekend, but still...NO THANKS.

Daughter only has off weekends, and only one day.  Love you, but that's a bit much just to hang out one day with you.

Still a few less <2k but never peeked at them, and didn't want any surprises.  Need more pet friendly accommodations, as we have limited choices.

@Celsius nice find ... took la dee

but ... not pet friendly

You are wrong.

Initially I thought like above. Then I saw some internal numbers from 5-star hotels. About the third weeks of each month, the income goes down. And then in the first week of the next month, the numbers go up again. Not only the poor people struggle with their money.

The prices keep on going up but you're talking about a holiday weekend, so I would be content with a four-star. You'll get you'll still get a lot of room for your money.

The only way we can personally find inflation is to just say no to piracy.

Now same in Pattaya! They ARE high.... and not much available less than 1500THB - my limit.

My regular mid price joints are more than double that.

What the heck is your point? He wanted Sukhumvit Rd. Bangkok mid November. You chime in with Pattaya 5 weeks ago in your old favorite hotel. JHC.

Whats wrong with your brain fella lol

Firstly 5 weeks ago wasnt the 30th and 31st October was it,,,,,

I also acknowledged it was Pattaya rather than Bangkok and I also made the point in light of the thread that yesterday and todays price was 740

I have no idea what JHC stands for fella but back in yer box boy....xx

Other than misreading the date as Oct 2 not much is wrong with me.

A lot would disagree Marin with you , hopefully they have taken your drivers licence away

but as we get older we tend to forget or not notice as one would call sublitties if there's such a word ,meaning detailed or smaller information

Yes thankyou Marin

I'm not exactly over sure of that word ,I found it in another thread ,maybe others could share some insight

But I found another word today ,   "discourse" which was mentioned in another thread and I'm excited by that and will add it to my list

Thankyou for your service

Let me help you with that one. It is a common golfing term.  I prefer "discourse" to "dat" course because it has less water holes.
