Chiang Mai Immigration officers observed the Englishman, identified only as Daniel, displaying suspicious behaviour. Daniel was a partner in a cannabis shop on Chang Moi Road in the province. The main owner of the shop was a Thai national who legally registered the store.

In addition to advising customers about cannabis, Daniel was found to be promoting his drugs to them. He had secretly sold drugs for more than six months before his arrest yesterday, November 12.

Officers searched Daniel’s backpack and accommodation, confiscating various types of drugs, including 21.61 grammes of crystal meth, 10 ecstasy pills, 6.56 grammes of ketamine, and 10.10 grammes of cocaine.

The Superintendent of the provincial immigration office, Surachai Iamphueng, reported to Channel 7 that officers also suspect Daniel of smuggling cannabis from Thailand to foreign countries. Further investigation will be conducted to verify this suspicion.

There is no report on whether Daniel’s Thai business partner was involved in the criminal activity. Police have not planned to summon the Thai national for questioning, according to Channel 7’s report.

Daniel is charged under Section 66 of the Narcotics Act for possessing less than 100 grammes of drugs for sale. The penalty includes imprisonment from five years to life and a fine of 50,000 to 500,000 baht.

He will be deported from the country and banned for 10 years after receiving his punishment.

Those one stop shop dealers are so much better than the one trick pony dealers.

Only small quantities of each, sounds like a big weekend.

Hopefully Daniel has more than 7 years left on his passport 🤔

So if he receives a life sentence he'll presumably be deported in a box eventually.

I often suspect that this is something that these guys previously did in their home countries.

Seems Daniel was selling something extra for the weekend !!

Idiot !!! 🙈

Is he doing time in Thai jail or where he stays

Maybe the new sole owner has already thanked the RTP.

Maybe Daniel was working, or doing business, on a tourist visa?

Of all the dumb things one could do in Thailand, selling a cornucopia of highly illegal drugs is way up there as the dumbest.

If this guy lives long enough to make it back to the UK, he will be lucky.

Thai prisons are no place for any foreigners, they are not as nice as UK prisons, and not the nicest of food

is served as well. I have no sympathy for anybody dealing drugs.

Silly boy... ruined his life, greed is dangerous!

I noticed we had a few drug users on here that have gone missing recently also ....

didn't they listen when everyone told them drugs are a no no ...

I smell the fragrance of another book about life in a Thai jail on the horizon.

I suspect the RTP will be informing the principal partner that Daniel has already signed his ownership over to them.

And somehow, they discovered that Daniel was actually a 99% owner.

No doubt about where I suspect the cops got their information. Everybody's a winner except for Daniel the ball bag

10 years plus do the crime do the time

Another book in the offing perhaps?

What a complete moron lock him up and throw away the key, waste of air

Stitched up by his Thai partner and the police.

The confiscated drugs will be resold and the Thai will have new ''business partners''

Rinse and repeat!

I know somebody who attempted to go into a cannabis business with a Thai. He was ripped off before it even got off the ground. (Probably did him a favor).

Looks like his stay in Thailand has just been extended.  Includes accommodation and meals.

Look on the bright side he will get a extension of stay curtesy of

Thai immigration 😱

Why would there be a new owner? Maybe you're just being funny?

"The main owner of the shop was a Thai national who legally registered the store." This might be the owner.

There is the business partner (Thai unless an illegal foreign nominee?).

But "There is no report on whether Daniel’s Thai business partner was involved in the criminal activity. Police have not planned to summon the Thai national for questioning"

So it would seem only why Daniel as a "partner" would not remain in the business.

now the crying will start about poor jail conditions>>> crime and punishment

It's all OK, he can write about how bad Thai jails are and his experiences, how he found God, a purpose in life etc, etc, ect!
