The hunting wives

Full season out, glossy soap with plenty of nudity and a hint of murder.

  • Mr Inbetween   https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7472896/   One of the best series I have watched in quite some time, an easy 8/10 for me.

  • When you get very old you can re-watch stuff from a month ago and have no idea that you have seen it before.

  • Wednesday......... is back, if you (or your kids have any  interest )   4 episodes out now ---4 episodes out in September

Currently in the middle of "Hostage" which is quite watchable although some of the details may be factually incorrect that does not detract.

Usual stupid finish pantomime style where you are saying to the characters don't do that, or how can that be possible etc.

Yes, same here.

Watching Countdown ( 13 part series )

Crime Drama Thriller 6.8 rating IMDb.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32559610/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

It is okay, if you like a bunch of “ experts in their field “ characters joining together to form a secret task force then this is for you.

A variation on the Expendables/A Team theme, plenty of action and lucky breaks ( check out the cctv picking up the suspects perfect image in a truck full of mirrors half way through EP 1 ) mix in an abundance of testosterone and you have Countdown.

Like I said, it is okay just don’t take it too seriously.

Don't know what happened.

It downloaded for me last week.

If you want to watch it and have a VPN, you can watch it on SBS on Demand.

Their Marriage

A spectacularly miscast drama on Netflix with two rather ugly Japanese people, but done in an intelligent way.

IT's watchable but not a pleasure the way My Mister or Repply 1988 were.

Bit strange.

Searching through the BBC iPlayer offerings, I came across from one which was of special interest to me having worked on offshore oil platforms for a few years, including a few in the North Sea. It was called "Disaster at Sea – the Piper Alpha story" and it was a harrowing story because of the 167 lives that were lost in this disaster when the platform caught fire and exploded.
The enquiry concluded that the platform which was operated by Occidental was deficient in safety procedures, safety in general and operations which jeopardised the lives of the workers.
Having said the above, none of the platforms I worked on, offshore Nigeria or in the North Sea and offshore Norway, according to the report findings, were safe, in any way, shape, or form and the drive for oil production was the driving force.
In fact in all my time on those platforms, I never once was informed or trained on safety procedures, or took part in safety drills – – when I think about it, I'm lucky to be here.

Happy Endings with Bruno

Are you ever surprise when a series that was well received, doesn't get a 2nd season--- but some of the crap ones do.

A few come to mind .

McMafia  ---Crime      I thought great series ----Russian family living in London but running a drug empire in Russia--- when a take over vie a murder of the father looms--its up to the son, who has his own legal business and been been kept separate from this part  of the family business, to go to Russia for the vengeance.

This got a regular  7.6--8 each episode... and although ran 7 years ago  --still has 3 pages of people downloading it  on PB

River...Crime ......got a 7.9 when it ran----John River is a brilliant police inspector whose genius lies side-by-side with the fragility of his mind. He is a man haunted by the murder victims whose cases he must lay to rest....stars Nicola Walker  (Unforgotten etc) same--nearly 10 years old still being downloaded

I had another 2 in mind---just, can not think of them----should have left the red alone till latter.

I agree. Both McMafia & River are both good series which were worth watching.

Watching all Alien movies in chronological order.  Two more to go, 3 & Resurrection, before downloading & watching 'Alien: Earth'

As pointed out last time you posted your incorrect graphic — the correct chronological order:

  • Alien: Covenant — 2104

  • Alien: Earth (TV series) — 2120

  • Alien — 2122

…so Earth sits after Covenant and just before the original Alien, and it’s a TV series, not a movie.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf

Prequel series to The Terminal List (2022) following Ben Edwards' journey from Navy SEAL to CIA operative.

Navy SEAL Ben Edwards finds himself entangled in the black operations side of the CIA. The deeper Ben goes into the ‘gray’, the harder it will become to not give himself over to his darker impulses. Every man has two wolves inside him – light and dark – fighting for control. Which wolf will Ben Edwards feed?

First 3 episodes have dropped.

Gave McMafia a try but not gritty enough for my tastes, and none of the Russian characters came off as believable.
