The Hack

Checked all the usual suspects and no season packs available as yet. Episode 1 (S01E01) is on 'easy TV' but other episodes are a Swedish series called 'Hakkad' which is translated as 'The Hack'.

 

First episode gets a big thumbs up from me. Very well paced with a style that constantly switches between traditional 3rd person and 'breaking the 4th wall'

Sometimes the season packs are out there but not distributed. Ext dot to has 3 episodes. There's lots of different versions of each episode on scene rls so it shouldn't be much longer.

I'm having problems with my utorrent it takes an age to download thats it if it manages it where before it was very good. Seems its failing to connect to peers despite there being many.

Any Ideas or good alternatives welcome.

I suspect your internet provider might have started blocking torrents

try setting the Utorrent client to use a different port/random port or encrypted port  depending upon the terminology they use.

 

Also try not to have loads of stuff downloading at the same time that can cause the NAT connection table of the modem/router to be overloaded rebooting the modem might help.

Power down/up your router will help sometimes or try a VPN.

Watched the Deer Hunter, last night ( long movie)

Not seen it for 30+ years.

Man still a great movie, made in 1978.

After many positive reviews on here, I decided to watch the TV series, Chernobyl, and I enjoyed it although I'm pretty sure I did watch it years ago when it first came out, but memory being what it is, I had forgotten a lot of it!

I had moved to New Zealand in 1984 so missed any of the radioactive cloud which did affect parts of England and Wales and which resulted in thousands of livestock being slaughtered.

Interestingly enough in New Zealand I continued my wine collecting and caught up with a French wine merchant/importer in Auckland and I was about to order some Grand Cru (Ch Lynch Bages) French wines directly from the vineyard when he asked me why I would want to order a vintage which he called the "glow-in-the-dark vintage"???

I questioned him about this and he told me although this wasn't actually the case, he was steering his clients away from this particular vintage?!

To get back onto the series, I thought it was very good and it really did not show Russia in a good light then, but IMO that still has not changed.

Playing Nice:

Two couples find out their toddlers were switched at birth and have to decide how to resolve the dilemma.

Thought this was going to be a soppy soul searching drama but it turned dark real quick and i enjoyed it.

7.0 on IMDb, i would agree with that.

Atomic:

This got varying reviews and while it started off promising the plot became somewhat absurd towards the end. But some good tense moments if albeit unbelievable, okay for some escapism.

A deserved 6.1 on IMDb I feel.

Chief of war:

4 episodes into this so far and liking it very much. Usually with subtitles it has to be exceptional to hold my interest and this has all the trademarks of an epic series. Luckily the subtitles become less after the first episode.

Interesting plot, beautiful scenery and some great action scenes.

7.6 on IMDb, I would give it an 8, so far.

I just found them on TPB. MeGusta rips 720p or 1080p. They'll do very nicely. Thank for the offer anyway 😇 

IMDB give The Hack about  7.8--to- 8,  I thought at least a 9. It helps if you are from The UK or maybe Oz  to understand the amount of influence Murdoch has had on the scene, Although with Fox & soon to be Tik-Tok Americans may already be feeling it.

 

Its an unusual format that they have done the series in--- But it starts to move forward in the 2nd episode with the Pub murder.

 

But no Spoilers---- great acting ---well worth a look.
