  • They just realised they can sleep on the beach for free and spend more money on other things unfortunately it's not a good look for a family orientated tourist destination the Thai government are only

  • Awesome! They have attracted exactly the people they want to have. Littering freeloaders and heavy drinkers pissing in the ocean.    Good Job Mr. Ngampichet! You have just shown the country,

If Trump was in charge of Pattaya you think those Indian bums would be there?

Get some gonads Pattaya bosses.

Dirty cheap skate Indians. !!!!

More quality tourists.

Just send immigration around to check if a TM30 notification has been filed for them for the night. If they aren't registered at a hotel, fine them for the missing TM30 notification and for littering.

I go during the week of Christmas, when most people are celebrating elsewhere. There are not too many people, especially at night, and the beach is enjoyable. I stay at a beautiful resort called The Castello. It has a restaurant and a beautiful outdoor garden, and good coffee. I enjoy the live music at Klom Klom bar where I also perform. There is a nice mixture of Thai and farang, no Indians, no Russians, I think the music (rock and roll) keeps them away like mosquito repellant. There are several other good nightime live music venues, also not crowded that time of year. I have done this for 10 years and am never disappointed.

That quite period might change now that you've advertised it.

Hmmmmmmm something smells off here going by what this other article has to say! So are they telling us to only venture to the beach only during the day and avoid it at all costs at night due to the quality tourists using it for bedding at night?

Same Same but different!

Concerns are being raised over the unseemly behavior potentially tarnishing Pattaya’s reputation.  🤣

If true, at least they won't be bathing in the sea anytime soon!🤢

I feel sorry for the girls who have to put up with the stench!🤮

At least it will give The soi dogs something else to sniff other  than other soi dogs Arses!💩

I might even keep the dog 💩 off the beach...😎🥳🤪

I was under the impression that you had to have a Thai accommodation address when entering the country.

A simple check would determine wether the rough sleepers are vagrants or not..

there is a simple thing called "lying"

Certainly makes them feel right at home. :coffee1:

Or answers them...  🤔

I remember over 20 years ago Pattayas tourists were mostly American & European , Indians had their area down around the vc hotel & the far left side end of walking street, but now the Indians are the majority  from beach road to second road , Indian businesses every where  every second place  , still plenty of Russians around too but Phuket seems to be their favourite place , changed times

Have you ever visited India?

I live in East Pattaya & don't visit the beach these days.

I didn't see these events back in 2006.

Perhaps it now has something to do with phones, cameras & postings to be popular.🙃🙃

This is firmly due to the visa policies by previous PM and the current administration who have removed all visa controls to India (and basically most of the world). As a result you have a raft of cheap tourists entering the country ... well basically because it's the only country that lets them in.

They have destroyed any hope of quality tourism by this one insane measure. It was a panic ridden decision after the pandemic to kick start tourism - there was simply no need for it, tourism numbers have returned to pre pandemic levels around the world.

They let the Russians take over Phuket. Now have essentially let India takeover Pattaya. It's absolutely awful. You tell me how a quality tourist will want to go here?

What is astonishing is that India doesn't even let Thai nationals enter India without a tough visa !!!!

An Indian cannot get into Congo, Ehiopa, Nigeria, South Sudan without a visa. But Thailand .. no problem.

Absurd

loud, smelly, dirty and aggresive behaviour....minimum spending ....but total tourists numbers are going up...

Thai logic ... revenue going down from tourism. So lets just let more people enter to makeup for the shortfall. No attempts to clean up the image or cut out corruption, clean the image up, etc

All I notice is Anti India and anti china and anti Russia bashing here online... as if the prostitu....  on larger scale was brought to Thailand by these countries... it was USA and other European countries who made it happen. Anyways till the time any tourist... anywhere in the world  whatever nationality behaves in a manner expected from them... it's no harm... people with prejudices can keep on ranting

Bulltwinkies. The Thai market for pros has been here forever and is like a larger market than for non-Thais

yeah that's right if it weren't for those pesky Americans attracting the girls to Pattaya the Indians wouldn't have any reason to come and piss in the ocean and throw trash on the beach.

Everyone mentions passing in the ocean , why no mention of the brown torpedoes .

It does look that way, chasing the numbers, preferably numbers in baht. Never mind if they have a lousy time due to crowding and lack of infrastructure.

They're welcome in the UK, without a Visa.

No sleeping on beaches, hotel accommodation is provided.

Maybe too far to travel for some.🤷

Supposedly Middle Class(or above) Indians back home.

Playing Homeless in the Land of Smile.

Another Quality Tourists TAT sought LOL.

Drunk men defenselessly sleep in on the beach at night.

Well reflecting on Thailand's (relative) safety.

Better not to do it in many other places of the world.

Wallet, credit card, camera, and phone, likely to be gone by the dawn.

Pattaya was a <deleted>hole even 20 years ago.

At least, not built as the Sacred Site, in the first place.

Originally, sleepy fishing port.

Then developed to be the town of  Booze and Sex Trade for military R&R during the period of Indo China war...

Which is the actual issue to the writer(SNS viewers) of this article?

Those sleeping on the beach(not paying for hotel accommodation); not contributing local economy?

Or their litter bug habit?
