Looks like definitely connected.

Under  construction. Likely not stable like a ready built tower.

Edited post since location now mentioned.

My house and pickup truck outside were rocking like crazy for several minutes.

A natural fault in the earth's crust!

Why post a video without explaining what it is a video of?!!

It's a building that just collapsed at Bang Sue, Bangkok, apparantly due to the earthquake. There's no more to tell at the moment as it's only just happened but it'll be all over the news soon.

will the developer collect insurance or will be refused on the base of "The Act of God"?

Others say 7.3 or even 7.7

Think 4.9 was an earlier small shake.

Lasted about 20 seconds, if that, here in P'lok. No visible movement of truck.

.....oh....fault....got it...🙃

I don't think it is intelligent enough to make such a post  as a pun!

It probably meant it.

3-4 minutes here, I had time to get off the sofa and walk/wobble outside, then call the kids down from their room. Then chat to my wife and her pal while watching the pickup rock, and watch the neighbours running out into the road. Top of the pickup was rocking about 3 inches from side to side.

I'm in Chiang Mai, near the train station. For about twenty to thirty seconds, our entire condo shook from side to side. Objects fell to the ground, and we ran outside in a panic. We're on the 4th floor of a six-story building, and everyone was rushing out at the same time.

Some people were even completely naked, which shows how chaotic it was. The scariest part was that even after getting outside, we could still feel everything shaking around us. This is the first time in my life I've experienced an earthquake of this magnitude.

It’s a terrifying reminder of how powerful Mother Nature can be.

I've read and heard that a 20-story condo in Chiang Mai may have collapsed. I'm waiting for confirmation, and I really hope it's not true.

I had just walkd out of the US Consulate and I thought "why is the ground rolling"?  Then I went back to my memories of life back in Earthquake Land (Los Angeles) and realized this was a rolling earthquake.  The rolling motion lasted under 30 seconds.  I thought this was a moderate quake (initial estimate was 4.9 in Thailand). I read it was a magnitude 7.4 in Myanmar.  7.4 is huge and the most powerful quake I lived and worked hrough was a 6.7 in 1994.

All of us in LOS should expect aftershocks later today or possibly tomorrow.

Lastly we should all have an escape/evacuation plan just in case. I have always maintained a "bug out bag".  All US embassies and consulates are supposed to have a NEO (Noncombatan Evacuation Operations Plan) but I'm  not sure if CNX consulate or BKK embassy has these plans or not?

Stay safe, take the stairs and be on the lookout for possible falling glass.

Not only that. There are likely people mangled and half crushed to death but still alive trapped and suffocating to death right now.

Korat plateau seems rocksolid.

Felt nothing though I was probably in the car.

It is, literally. Geologically at much less risk of seismic activity than areas north and west of it.

EQ rescue operation even for LAFD USAR(Urban Search and Rescue) is slow, difficult and saves very few people. The building in BKK that collpased looks like it was under construction (I saw a crane on the roof) and hopefully number of deceaseda and injured is low.

Felt it near Dan Sai. Loei.

Had just sat down in a lazyboy and it kept rocking and shaking in weird directions.  My wife didn't feel a thing.

Idiot

The government says it will happen again at 2.30 pm, so probably not.

One of my girls wanted to break up with me today. I told her "look what you did, Buddha is not happy, you cause earthquake", she reconsidered and joked and laughed, no more break up. Hahahaha.
