Blood-stained scenes emerged from Pattaya's bustling nightlife as a dramatic brawl unfolded in the early hours of May 7. The commotion, starting at a beer bar along Soi 6, sent both patrons and police into a frenzy when an allegedly intoxicated Irishman found himself embroiled in a fierce altercation.

 

After a night of heavy drinking, the situation spiralled into chaos, leaving bar staff injured and kicking off a hunt for the fleeing suspect.

 

At precisely 3.19am, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre received the urgent call, sparking an immediate response from rescue teams and law enforcement.

 

The suspect, later identified as a 29-year-old Irish national, attempted to evade capture by darting into the deserted Runway Market nearby. When officers caught up with him merely 100 metres from the scene, he was found bleeding from his forehead and ear, without any form of identification.

 

In a state of distress and intoxication, the man initially rejected medical help but eventually relented upon the arrival of police patrols. His version of events depicted a quiet night disrupted by an unprovoked attack from a group of women and transgender individuals, insisting on their innocence in starting the fight.

 

However, differing accounts immediately arose from a bar employee offering a starkly contrasting narrative.

 

Nan, a 31-year-old bar worker, revealed that the Irishman and his companion were the source of disturbance, allegedly turning aggressive when requested to calm their behaviour. The situation reached a boiling point when the man purportedly struck a female staff member, prompting an immediate response and a reported glass being thrown in retaliation by Nan herself.

 

Ambulances whisked two injured staff members to hospital care while the foreign duo is said to have hurried away amidst the uproar. Authorities conducted a preliminary interrogation of the Irishman at Pattaya City Police Station, allowing both parties an opportunity to register official complaints.

 

As tensions escalate, a dedicated detective team is scrutinising CCTV footage to capture the true sequence of events. Authorities are committed to an impartial investigation, pledging that justice must be served, regardless of nationality.

 

Crucial video evidence is poised to clarify who incited the incident, leaving police to navigate varied testimonies. Whatever the outcome, Pattaya's nightlife proves as unpredictable as it is vibrant, reminding all involved of the potential for mayhem in the lively coastal city.

Well, he was bleeding without any identification and Nan threw a "reported" glass in retaliation. So, thank God they have critical video evidence "poised" to clarify who incited the incident. And, please don't forget the potential for mayhem in this lively coastal city. 

Silly Irishman and his Mate should have known better than to mess with the Katoeys on Soi 6!

Perhaps a lesson or two of 'customer service' or some training needed. What with security being in the habit of kicking customers in the head, and serving staff throwing glasses at them.

Great decision to keep the bars open until 4am?   With a 1pm start, many are drunk by 10pm, and they still have another 6 solid hours of drinking time.

It has all the makings of a good holiday story, to be retold and relived for years.  If not an entire lifetime of "that time I went to Thailand and got arrested".

Anywhere else I'd assume he's at fault. Soi 6? Not so sure. Staff there seems thirsty for violence. More likely he was disrespectful and they used the opportunity to attack.

Got to wonder when they are going to go back to 2 am close.  Seems too much is hapening after 2 that is not good for tourism or anyone.
