Anyone bought a (decent) office chair from Lazada?

Featured Replies

I bought a cloth chair from a furniture shop on Pattaya Klang 17 years ago and it lasted 15 years until the wheel base broke.  My replacement chair was bought at Index for twice as much and sucked.  <deleted>ty PU and they cut corners by eliminating an inch or two from the length of the seat.  I unscrewed the seat from my old my old cloth chair and put it on the new chair's wheels and I'm back in the saddle.  Cloth chairs rule in this hot climate.  Thank god I didn't throw the old one out.

If anyone knows where to get a new, cloth chair, let me know.  They have gone the way of the dinosaur.

OfficeMate by Big C South has a very good selection.  You can try them out of course.

Indeed, personally I like the Aeron by Herman Miller - you can order them online and they ship they via Fedex from Pergo Thailand.

This is considered a reasonably high end office chair.

Not cheap though 😂

Yeah, Herman Miller is the king of Office Chairs and more in Thailand. 🙂 Love them too.

Right now I am sitting in a Canasta Executive from Mood&Tone. Not same good, so I think I will go back to HM.

But, you are right. A good chair that actually takes care of you on a daily basis is never cheap. 😉

Why anyone would want a leather chair in this hot climate escapes me. The breathable mesh chairs are much more comfortable.

I get a few too many mosquito bites through a mesh back.... had to add a floor mat to it.

Fine. But leather? Sticky, sweaty.

You don't have screens on your windows?

No, no screens, never liked them,. Pain to clean, get a lot of dust in them and darken the room.

How often do you use this chair?

12+ hours a day, every day

Mine was absolute garbage, cost around 1000Bt, and was not even the one I ordered. Just be very careful of ordering one of these chairs.

No offence

But what do you really expect for a 1000 Baht?

There are a lot to offer on Lazada priced from 1000-3000 Baht, but the photos are often a little deceptive of the quality. I'm too lazy to go looking in Index or Home Pro, so any reports on what chair they bought from Lazada would be good.

You must be new to Thailand. Why use Lazada when office mate and Homepro and many other outlets sell these with delivery option from online websites and apps. Lazada will always be cheap quality for cheap prices. Even if you pay a lot you are not guaranteed it is not made with substandard materials.

I have bought 2 different type of office chairs using Lazada and disappointed with both. The chairs i bought for the same price using HomePro online were much better quality and more comfortable.

If you càll 15 years here new. I said in my opening comments that I was too lazy to go looking and it would have been convenient to get from Lazada if there had been some positive purchases, but it seems not.

So you can look in Lazada app but not in Homepro or other retail store apps? I am confused for sure now...

I expect the chair that I asked for. It is only for home use.

Did you return it?

Was it from Lazada?

Was it from an official manufacture or Lazmall store?

If you use Lazada wisely, on most occasions they have good stuff.

Yes it was from Lazada, I tried to arrange for return and was on their chatline, they were very unhelpful. I only use Lazada if I can't get from anywhere else.

This looks like pretty much what I'm after from HomePro.

Looks very similar to the one my wife bought me about 10 years ago. ฿4500 from a shop on the top floor of MBK.

Unfortunately, although it looks sturdy, the wheels joints are very weak. After a couple of them snapped, we got the local chang to weld them in place but after the others went it became unmovable. Something to think about if you're on the heavy side.

The one from HomePro is only 2400 baht, similar to the old one that has lasted me 10 years. I'm only 85 kilos, so should be OK.

Finally gave up on chairs and stole my stepson's weightlifling bench. Still going strong. The padding is still quite comfortable after a few years. Rated at 300kg

Tried a cheaper alternative. Not so strong but good enough for a large Thai wife. Even then, you can hear it creaking all the time. Rated at 200kg I think.

Considering buying some of these for the kitchen / shop area. Just search Lazada for 'park bench'. All just north or south of ฿1000.

If you buy from official stores or Lazmall endorsed stores, you should at least get what you ordered, paid for.

Yes, correct - sorry about that - Im just saying, I wouldn't recommend either officemate or Lazada, they are all the worst Chinese made chairs with different labels and price tags, they look the part, but really aren't. Good luck with your search.

You can buy cheap or expensive chairs on lazada, thats on you.

because they are cheap and hot. Not going with a mesh seating tray is just a cost-cutting measure.

Your pleather "executive" chairs are also more for show than comfort.

I disagree, I've had a padded one for 10 years, I put a towel on the back in very hot weather, but that's it. I also like padded arms, the one you show doesn't have.

good for you.

Have you ever tried a proper ergonomic chair that doesn't require a towel in hot weather?

At 83 my old bones need some padding.

But, you are right. A good chair that actually takes care of you on a daily basis is never cheap.

Indeed, I first bought one of these a while back, maybe 10 years ago because the constantly changing chairs I was using were starting to irritate my lower back, I went through 3 or 4 of them over a year or so before giving up with the cheaper ones.

I've never had any back problems at all previously but do sit on my ass in front of a computer for many hours every day and have done so for 30+ years

So I bought an Aeron from Bangkok, when in Cambodia for half the year these days where I can't find an Aeron on sale at all, anywhere - I bought something which is kind of similar and does the job.

So I nipped those future lower back issues in the bud as soon as they started to appear as a mild discomfort long ago and it's well worth it, I find it amazing what a difference a simple chair can make and where I previously laughed at those big companies paying $1000+ per chair for their employees I now understand entirely why they do it. Lots of chairs will injure you over long term use and that results in lawsuits for the employer - this avoids the problem which avoids the lawsuit!

I agree cloth isn't easy to find, probably because it absorbs sweat (which causes cloth to rot) and isn't easy to clean.
