Lao ladies arrested after customer calls out fake photos in online service sting

BANGKOK - Thai police raided a hotel room and arrested three Lao women accused of offering online adult services using misleading photos. The police swoop came after a dissatisfied customer reported that the women did not match the images they advertised.

The saga unfolded around 11:30 p.m. on the night of 8th August when authorities, acting under orders from top police officials, launched an investigation.

Reports surfaced of foreign women openly advertising adult services on social media. Posing as potential customers, officers engaged with the group on social media app X (formerly Twitter), where attractive photos lured clients into contacting them via a provided Line ID.

During the operation, police discovered the three Lao nationals inside a room equipped with 60 condoms and lubrication. The women confessed to the illicit business, admitting to using photos of more attractive individuals with similar body types as part of their deceptive marketing tactic.

Despite the deception, they claimed customers often accepted their services due to the affordable rates.

With evidence in hand, the authorities swiftly detained the trio at the Min Buri police station. Their admission adds a new chapter to an ongoing saga of online deception and exploitation in the region.

However, the legal procedures ahead will determine the full consequences for those involved.
