I know personally of three

One I will not go back to !

I certainly will not be saying or identified the medical centre I'm talking about in the Jomtien area

but I remember my last visit which still sends shivers up my spine when I had to deal with a young women who was the receptionists asking me questions and shaking her head at the answers !

I decided rather than be belittling I left

She also seems to talk to others like that too

Oh please I said to her ...not this little black duck and then I stormed out

There isn't even any privacy taking my blood pressure in the waiting room of all places !

I have had a vicious gay Thai Dr tell me that I was invading the Thai hospital system and turned nasty, I left and saw another Dr, I have been a patient at the hospital for 17 years, I have supported my family and paid their medical expenses costing me thousands of Bhat, I have never been treated so badly, thank bhudda I will never see this a hell again

Don't put up with it , it seems to be racism

On the other hand, I have encountered many doctors here who have gone out of their way to be helpful.

Every country has "good" and "bad" doctors.

Yes true but the fact sadly is that if I complained I probably wouldn't have been kicked out of the hospital

Shock horror, you had to show a naked arm in the waiting room for your blood pressure test.

You no doubt show more than that each time you go for a swim

Mate, you've missed the boat, 20 years ago we were all treated like Kings, these days they are fed up with us.

You want NON Rude receptionist, you got to get out of Pattaya, far away.

Too many moaning, nasty, miserable foreigners in Pattaya, it's no longer Thailand, just whinging, whining lousy foreigners.

BHP takes your blood pressure in the waiting room.

It's not a problem for most of us.

I had attitude from a male dentist, so I got up out of the chair and walked out.

Your very Connda and I will never go back to that Jomtien medical Centre again.

There's several others to choose from and my favourite is the farang doctor located up off that busy road

Always smiles when he sees me and instantly remembers me !

"Here for your prostate check he shouts to me or here for kidney or liver or brain scan?

A lovely doctor who remembers his patients

I said I was surprised he remembered me

His comment was in no way homophobic.

Also there's no need for Misogyny but you still showed it in your OP.

Try going back there with a bar of chocolate in your hands and see if it'll work better.

I have only had pleasant experiences with nurses... Doctors though... my 1st urologist was the rudest <deleted> I have ever met.

I refused appointments with him so I was assigned to another, he was extremely friendly an upon my insistence booked my in for kidney removal very quickly.

AWW diddums....

I have had the misfortune of being treated by the Thai health system on a regular basis over the past few years. Not once, never, have I suffered anything remotely like this. I have always been treated like everyone else in the hospital.

A friend and I went to get our blood work 2 years in a row. My friend is mostly a good guy, he was very successful at his work but divorced several times. He can be very direct/demanding when he really doesn't need to be, whereas I use please and thank you. I realize I'm in a foreign country for christsake, a little sugar goes a long way.

Anyway, the first year blood work went off without a hitch. About two hours in the hospital in the morning, come back to discuss results in afternoon.

Well, we made the appointment for the 2nd year, show up on time and what does he do? He decides he wants to change his original blood work request to a different blood work test. He took what was a simple plan of action and made it much more difficult. And once again, even though he was married to a Thai at one time, he still doesn't know how to present himself.

Well, it got funny after that and I got to watch it all from the sideline. I breeze through all my checkpoints, he was forced to wait FOR HOURS and because he's the way he is he's completely losing his mind. Instead of get out of there by 9:30 we probably left around 11:30 he's steaming mad the whole time.

We came back to discuss the results around 1 or 2pm I get right in and sure enough they make him sit and wait for another hour or longer. He ended up seeing the same doc that I had to go over the results and she actually seemed to like to talk to us falangs and he was in with her for 45 minutes as I waited outside.

Anyway, it was a much longer day than it had to be I could have said something to him but at this stage in life ain't nothin' gonna change.

My whole point is it's the few EXTREMELY difficult guys that make it bad for the rest of us. I can't blame the Thai's one bit.
