Live as if this were your last day.

What, lying in a hospital bed, screaming in agony?  😞

73% of fatal car accidents occur within 2 miles of victim home address.........MOVE!!!

Following some comments and threads here one could come to a conclusion that some have already passed that day but still posting as aliens. 😁

This would simplify the process of retirement planning.

My expiry date is 2-3 years from now.

You are one of the good guys. I think 4 years 5 months for you.

According to one of the statistical websites that take into account your current age, health, lifestyle, family illnesses etc, I will make it to 101 years old!!

That sounds like a stat that follows you.

IIRC you said that about 5 years ago.

Yes but "now" is an ever-changing value.

Therefore, "2-3 years from now" is actually "never."

Think about it 🤔

Sure - you get to prepare.

On a long enough time line, everyone's survival rate drops to zero.

True. However, I can't predict the future.

I had a friend, whose relatives all lived well into their 90's. He thought he would do the same, and he was pretty fit.

Melanoma got him at age 72.

Absolutely not. It is enough to know that time is short. Make the best of it.

Must be why I always prefer to be O&A, although the wife is more of a home body ...

... oh crap  :w00t:

Live each day as if it were your last... Because some day you'll be right!

Likely not, but I have begun to measure the remainder of my life in months not years, so when someone asked me how long you think you have left I say maybe 250 months or so. It somehow creates a sense of urgency and offer some perspective on the value of each day.

Absolutely....even toyed with the idea of choosing a date myself.

Divvy up the money so it runs out on the due date......then start kicking the **** out of the few years I have left.

I know someone who did that.

He was a military pilot, and has written a few good books.

He is now a penniless and brainless vegetable living (???) in deepest Isaan on his poor Thai family's charity. He doesn't know his own name, and has neither the means nor the wits to end it all.

According to average life expectancy for my gender and nationality, I'll be carking it any time now.

by definition 50% of people will exceed that

....and, therefore, 50% won't.

I thought mine was last week after a very traumatic panic attack but I got the all clear two days later hopefully I will make it to my 75th birthday in four months time !

Actuarial tables showing life expectancy by year of birth https://www.ssa.gov/oact/TR/2011/lr5a4.html

For people born in the 1950s it's 74, but nobody in my family has made it that long.

OMG, according to this table I should have died 6 years ago. :clap2:

It calls for a celebration . . . :burp:

Everyday is a miracle and a bonus day!

Im 56, and there is a long time ago I started to count my bonus days, but that’s another reason than reached expected life expectancy, and more in the nature of my sports and activities. Still it is making my day every day just thinking of it.

Think I'm halfway there living out here......555

Would you want to know your expiry date?

I am past my expire date  so  I don't have to worry about anything anymore  now  what ever happens  is fine by me😇

I have died many times during the war. I'm still here as a lucky solder who received a big favor to be here now (by an invisible protector).

I don't care much, anytime will be the time. I don't have many people around me, the only older sister who lives in US.
when I go is not important, but how I go it is. 🤔

I'm on to a winner.

I have a bet with my oncology specialist that I will live long enough to watch on TV England win a World Cup.

Oh, sh#t! I forgot. I  did that already in 1966 when I was 20 years old!
