British Gang Busted in Phuket for Robbing American Lawyer

I doubt 1 year is enough, alone ramming his bike could have resulted in the victims death so attempted murder could be one charge apart from robbery with violence and conspiracy to commit a crime, stupidity is an optional charge.

One year in a Thai jail to learn a lesson, then extradited to UK to complete the prison term.

  • The Brits' crown was beginning to slip so it's good to see the Brits firmly back at the top of the "Bad Boys" league.    Nevertheless I don't recognise these as traditional Anglo-Saxon names

  • Well done BiB for getting them.

  • Everyone is a British national these days we are twined with the third world🤔

In their defence , it was a lawyer.

and a lawyer with 3 passports? Well you know what they say about lawyers - it’s the 99% who give the rest a bad name.

Sadly I believe you are correct!

ramming an American motorcyclist

It seems incongruent that the victim wears an watch 5x+ more valuable than his transportation. Given his apparent wealth I'd expect him to drive a luxury vehicle that can provide him with a degree of safety and defense. Maybe this robbery will give him an incentive.

Nevertheless I don't recognise these as traditional Anglo-Saxon names: Hussain, Mir, Yanne and Malique.  Perhaps they are from Wales?

Not likely . more like ex refugees. Gone are the dayes when British had names such as Bruce, Peter. etc. May God help them.

To deter others thinking of coming to Thailand

And doing the same

and get quality tourists a bad name especially the British ones

These guys deserve a longer stay say 5 years  in Jail then deported

A lawyer getting robbed, I'd like to see that.

Mr. Ibrahim Iyun, just a regular, true US citizen, residing in Switzerland and reportedly holding three passports? That certainly speaks volumes.
And here I was, thinking I'm the one living on the edge.😎😂

Well done the police and to the Thais who helped the victim.  As for potential punishment?  My views are too right wing for AN. 😜

A long drop and a short stop. 🤷🏼

Their parents will be so proud of them.  Smack the crap out of them and lock um up.

Yup. Aussies had "My names McGooley, What's Yours" back in '66. Real Oz names indeed🙃🙃

You should be able to own anything you want without some scumbag deciding he wants it.

Otherwise what is the point in working hard to buy things you like?

Anyone who steals anything should first have a hand removed and next time their head.

Back in the 1990's prison was known as the Bangkok Hilton, so no offence if there is a Hilton Hotel in Bangkok now~My comment~lock them up in the Bangkok Hilton for a few years.I do not think we want them back in the UK, especially with the dubious names!

American Lawyer huh? Good on him.. Who needs a 2.3M Baht watch anyway. being American, probably about with a big mouth.

The perfect cultural experience.   Fly to Thailand and get robbed by Brits.

The thing is that not many watches are being robbed in Thailand.

I can buy the same looking watch for a few thousand baht.

I bet my next paycheck on these guys already knowing the victim was going to be here and that he has an expensive watch.

Maybe they saw that on social media somehow.

Organized job but with very little brain power.

Just a result of the structured payments for the riches of colonial days.

If they were on long stay visas it's damning that no proof of a criminal record is requested at any point. Most countries will request one with any form of visa.

There are too many of these lowlife criminal Brits in Thailand.

Being soft on crime is harming tourism.

Not the cleverest places to go wearing such riches

I saw this earlier this past week. I was wondering, how did they know, for sure, that it was real? I'm on thread on another forum/site about watches and if you spend around $ 500 or more, they're nearly impossible to authenticate to a normal person, at least the bigger brands. This one not sure. On another note, how do these people get UK passports? Born there? Maybe but I'd be surprised. Just curious.
