BANGKOK - A luxury Lamborghini Huracán crashed into a power pole near Bang Rak Noi Tha It MRT station in Nonthaburi early this morning. The incident happened around 1.30am when police from Bang Sri Muang Station received reports of the supercar collision on Rattanathibet Road. Both the driver and a female passenger sustained only minor injuries.

Police arriving at the scene found the grey Lamborghini with its front end severely damaged and the power pole toppled. Experts estimate the pricey vehicle, a red-plated Lamborghini Huracán LP 640‑2, is worth between 25 and 30 million Thai baht. Initial investigations suggest the car lost control, hit a traffic island, and then smashed into the pole.

According to reports, the driver was approximately 45 to 50 years old, while his passenger was between 30 and 35. Both were taken to the police station for further questioning as part of the inquiry into the accident. The Metropolitan Electricity Authority responded to cut off power and assess the damage to electrical infrastructure.

Going forward, authorities will continue investigating the cause of the accident and assess any necessary actions regarding repairs. Meanwhile, traffic resumed after removing the wreckage and clearing the debris from the road. This incident mirrors other recent traffic mishaps across the country, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Lamborghini Huracán crashed into a power pole causing significant damage.
  • The driver and passenger escaped with only minor injuries.
  • The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash.

The driver should be charged for vandalism among other things.

No, no casualties, but seems to be a small dent in the economy.

I have a Lambo, and it seems to be very fast.  Wanna check it out?

His insurance company is going to be very happy...

No problem. This is Thailand. That will hammer out. Pop in a Hi Lux engine and good to go.

In Thailand even Lamborghini Huracán must have FSD (full self driving) capability to avoid driver responsibility.

No it was the driver who lost control, cars do not lose control by themselves.......:coffee1:

The car lost control, they could tell by the skid marks.... The same applied to the driver

The insurance company i think will not be happy in the payout. The driver must have being going so fast and he lost control and he was very lucky  he survived

You do wonder.  Even a 2 hour course at the track taught by a professional driver can teach you the basics.

Dunning-Kruger Effect in full force probably.

Why pop in a hilux engine ?

The rear of the vehicle has very minimal damage so doubt the Lambo engine is <deleted>.

If I had a 30 million baht car, I wouldn't drive it late at night! I wouldn't drive it at all! I'd sell it. 😜

BRAKE !

Safe to assume the power pole moved into the front of the Lambo not giving the driver adequate time to swerve to avoid it. Sufficient funds being exchanged will ensure that the investigation will confirm this as the facts.

Happens a lot, also those reckless light poles and trees jumping in front of cars
