Trumps a moron, his supporters obviously blind to reality and of questionable intelligence. America provides my daily laughs with all the crap he sprouts that no one wants to correct him. Everyone has worked out if you blow smoke up his bottom, you get want you want. Even FIFA got in on the act to prevent him disrupting the games by giving him a made up medal. Rumor is it had chocolate in the centre and he ate it as soon as he left the room!

The comments don't seem to align with the poll results.

Nor trump's speech with reality, it appears.

He's been accelerating America's downfall, just as expected. So I'd call it a success.

As a 78 year old American I firmly believe the 20th century was the United States' golden age. It is currently suffering from fatal extreme economic disparity and a failed attempt at being a racial/cultural melting pot.

I think that all presidencies from George Bush 2nd have been failed presidencies. Clinton failed in important ways as well, but an exceptional economy made him look better.

Fascists like it though.

This guy is pretty funny.

People were cannibalizing each other ... and now we're the hottest country in the world.

If it means the tatty gold filling the White House then the answer is yes.

If not it's not April fools day until next year.

I think the Trump 2.0 era is more like the Gilded Age where robber barons ruled than a Golden Age.

He has made the Oval Office very golden though.

You do realized he used his owned money in doing that. His Presidential income that is. Which is about $500000 a year I believe.

Well 125 votes to date, and 83.6% of respondents think it's as golden as polished turd.

Very doubtful but you totally missed the point.

Trump's perverted anti-American democracy idea of what the American presidency is supposed to be about is that it is should be a one man rule monarchal dictatorship. He's more Saddam Hussein than Abraham Lincoln. Yeah I get it. A minority of Americans are thirsty for what he's offering -- but their numbers are shrinking as he's failing miserably (emperor has no clothes time).

I am an American and a social and fiscal conservative who sees everything through the lens of a Christian world view which is in agreement only with the Word of God.

Sadly, I don't think America will ever be great again. President Trump is trying to make a difference, but there is so much resistance to his policies, and the country is so divided that it will never be able to experience another Golden Age. The Democrat Party is so corrupt and misguided that there will never again be agreement in the Halls of Congress. Our political system has stood the test of time for nearly 250 years, but it is so far gone at this point that it will never recover and function as it has in our hay day. All of our strategic systems of government are failing, and the Democrat Pary it totally unmotivated to unify and join with the Republicans to fix the problems. America's national debt is around $36 trillion, and that is unsustainable. The stock market is at an all-time high, but it is being held together by only a handful of institutional investors, and the bubble is bound to bust sooner rather than later. The US Dollar has lost its luster and will continue to decrease in demand. There is no good thing on the horizon for America.

From a Christian point of view and according to Bible prophecy, we are in the last days and time is short. The glory of the US will pass away, and the nation will be held accountable for its sins against humanity and against God. I am not looking for the Golden Age, but instead I have my eyes focused on the clouds because soon we will see the appearance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and those who have put their God-given faith in Him will be taken away before the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord when the wrath of God will consume those who rejected Jesus! Come Jesus, come!

Golden age?  By what measurements?   House prices are grossly out of proportion to median worker's income. That to me is the biggest negative.   I think food and other consumables are manageable,  although I'm single, and  families with many children may disagree. Health insurance is another big negative.  I'm on Medicare now, and the premiums are reasonable once I stop making money. Others, and especially those with dependents they have to cover, probably have more issues with medical insurance than me.  Car prices can be crazy, but one doesn't have to buy new, don't have to buy huge pickup truck, don't have to pay 75,000 usd .  In the 1970s, as a teen, sure cars had a status symbol, but most of my friends were not from  money or spoiled, and we drove 500 dollar cars we spray painted,  tuned up ourselves..looked at them as things that got us around and beat walking.

Schools and education... I was born in 1957 in Rhode Island.  Public schools were good. State university of Rhode Island was affordable.  One could work a summer job and basically earn enough to pay for the next year of school.  School loans were simple.

Agreed. By coincidence or actions. The budget was balanced, and the debt was being paid down.

A Christian, and you're claiming it's the democrats that are corrupt? Corruption all over the present administration and nothing Christian about it.

So when Trump is failing, it's the Dem's fault! 😆

I bought 5 acres age 22 and my first house age 23. Same age as you. Simpler times for folks who required less.

I think you should be sectioned,   this has nothing to do with fairy stories.

The saviour is here and his name is Trump

Simpler times before the USA pivoted to being a consumer-driven society shipping jobs overseas. Hmmm, a virtual inevitablity that folks "required less" previously. The US economy is designed to do what it's done.

MAybe the growth in the Clinton presidency was helped by a surged in productivity, a major factor being the spread of WIndows programs.

I don't even know what a golden age is, but I did stick my 2 cents in on the survey. Golden!!!

More like the Iron Age now. Graduates from good schools are having a hard time getting good jobs. Inflation has not stopped. The US economy is failing 70% of Americans.

“Upward mobility is sort of dead,” said Gray Thurston, 27, an electrical engineer in Philadelphia, who earns about $90,000 a year. His parents are baby boomers.  “My parents’ generation did great. Everybody I work with at that age has big retirement accounts, are taking vacations and own multiple houses. Good for them.”

But things are supposed to get better for each generation, he said. “And it feels fundamentally broken that they’re not.”

It’s not just housing. Adults under 35 are not accumulating wealth as fast as they once had, said Edward N. Wolff, an economics professor at New York University. That is a sharp contrast with baby boomers, who are gaining an ever larger share of the country’s wealth.

Keyana Fedrick, a full-time manager at a department store in northeastern Pennsylvania, said she and her friends feel stuck in jobs that do not pay enough to rent an apartment, never mind buy a house. She lives with her parents and said she had paid off her student loans. But she still feels as if she is waiting for her life to begin.

Ms. Fedrick sees a stark contrast between her generation and that of her parents. Both worked hard, as a teacher and a bus driver, and retired with pensions.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to retire,” she said, adding, “Boomers made out like bandits.”

Even for those who own a home, the thought of children can be daunting. Stephen Vincent, 30, and his partner, Brittany Robenault, a lab technician, first went to community college to save money. Then, he said, they “ate beans and rice” for several years to save for a down payment.

Now an analyst for a chemical company with a household income of about $150,000, he likes his lifestyle in Hamburg, Pa., and wants to keep it. So why have children we can afford? “We live in the richest country in the history of human civilization, so why can’t I eat out twice a week and have kids?” he said.
