How was the movie? I really like the "Peaky Blinders" series, but it seemed to get a bit weak in the last season(s).

Just watched 'Gone' - a typical, taut BBC who-dun-it. 6 episodes (probably one too many) but excellent acting from David Morrisey and Eve Myles.

Disappointing IMHO, 5 episodes of offering potential suspects, then a completely random character not previously highlighted, arrested and charged in ep.6. That's just lazy and pointless.

Any Stephen Graham movie or tv show is always worth a watch.

The Good Boy - 8/10

A dark psychological thriller about Chris, a man who kidnaps and subjects a volatile 19-year-old named Tommy (Anson Boon) to a "deranged" rehabilitation process, alongside his weirdo wife, Kathryn.

Watched that and enjoyed it, Stephen Graham has a wide range of acting abilities and in this movie he plays one of his darker characters.

He also has a minor role in Peaky Blinders: An Immortal Man .

Having only seen a few of the Peaky Blinders episodes I decided to give the movie a try, enjoyed it, a great cast, along with Stephen Graham are some of my favourite actors, Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth.

Following the movie searched for the Peaky Blinders series and am currently binge watching the whole thing.

Expected a romantic comedy, but it's actually violent horror.

Beat me to it. Downloading now. Looks decent.

Watched it (Send Help) last night. A realistic twist on the rom-com genre. Worth a watch.

I'll be watching it tonight, as downloaded after BM2's post. Watched the trailer and it's right up my ally of silliness. Like McAdams and haven't seen her in anything lately.

Power :The Downfall of Huw Edwards

Ch 5 UK...2 part dramatization all out , This will probably only of interest of Brits...but has Martin Clunes playing the lead & I like his acting.

How a vulnerable 17-year-old was groomed by one of the most powerful figures in TV, Huw Edwards. This drama explores the newsreader's double life as it spirals out of control, leading to his exit from public life following his conviction for making indecent images of children. Based on extensive factual research, including exclusive first-hand interviews with those at the heart of the story.

Gay laws for Males in UK always been a mess ----put you in Prison up to 1967-- then can have sex if over 21 then changed to 18-- then changed in line with all sexual consent at 16 as long as partner is 18....then changed again....etc etc ----However in the publics view, this relationship seemed to take president over the fact that the charge was for downloading sex images of children.

Actually, I thought there was very little violence or horror.

Came across a movie made in 1949 which was very highly rated as one of the "best movies ever" (not IMHO) and it was called, "The Third Man".

It was a good enough movie made in black-and-white (obviously) and starring Orson Welles amongst others and dealt with some black-market shenanigans in Vienna just after the war.

Worth a watch if you like the oldies and is available on BBC iPlayer.

A couple of days later I decided to watch a movie made in 1970 which starred Jeff Bridges and the quite delightful Karen Allen, called "Starman" which was enjoyable in a laid-back fashion and with nothing exceptional about it, just an everyday average easy to watch movie.

I would gave described it as a black comedy, but far from realistic, from the CGI to the plot.

Realistic as not the phony endings you get in the typical rom-com where everyone lives happily ever after. They may have pushed it a bit far but that's the entertainment.

Brilliant film with the lens angles and the zither, a true classic.

I haven't watched it yet, but the reviews have been underwhelming.

Gets a 6.7 on IMDB.

If you like Martin Clunes then might be worth watching Manhunt series 1 & 2. I know they are available on ITVX (I struggle to get this in Thailand even with VPN) but believe both series available on other streaming platforms - Amazon Prime, Acorn TV, Netflix etc.

He plays the real life London DCI Colin Sutton. He was tasked with catching a killer which turned out to be Levi Bellfield. In the second series he is tasked with catching the Night Stalker who was responsible for a series of rapes and assaults on the elderly in South East London spanning a 17 year period.

Both based on fact and both excellent series - thoroughly absorbing.

There is another series called The Real Manhunter which comprises of interviews with DCI Colin Sutton explaining how he caught some of the most serious criminals the UK has known. Another excellent watch.
