You can give me your Gixxer if you don't want it anymore because you got so worked up about it's lack of a fuel gauge. :whistling:

You know you're right - it's shocking not having a fuel gauge - absolutely shocking  I'm selling the Ninja - in fact that's it - you've got me so worked up that I'm never riding my K5 Gixxer again since that doesn't have one either - after all what good is knowing how far your bike will go before you need to fill up if you don't even know how many 'bars' you've got left?

Keep checking for that fuel light dude

I honestly thought you had to check a box agreeing that you're over 13 years old when signing up here.

If I can't source an aftermarket fuel gauge you can have it - can't even look at the thing now :)

you should always know how far you can ride on your bike, how far you have left... I have a fuel gauge, but i dont look at it since it is not very accurate!

I just glance down and check how many km's i have done and stop by ptt...

I am happy to swap my new ninja for a gsxr... Just let me know!

many good posts here!

does anyone know where i can order some red rim tape and that carbon style lookin' fuel lid (gas cap) cover?

www.srk-group.com make their own parts for 250's and seems ok for handlebars (metallic red & stronger than original)

wwwrideit.co.th have some covers and fairings and seems ok for the price..

will change my exhaust soon but still looking around and not sure about that shape of yoshimura..

if anyone (sumet or someone) knows about rim tape, and metallic red parts i'd love to know it..

thanx, d

X-Speed have red rim tape for 450thb.

Speaking of X-Speed, this is their updated version of their CBR250R.

The rear cowl looks slightly different to the other ones I've seen produced here. Looks nice, very nice.

Last time I was up there it was completely stripped down, think the forks are off the cbr600.

You should be able to order the red rim tape from any Honda dealer, they should have an accessory pamphlet for the 150/250.

This is the Honda 'CBR' tape on my 150; the same for the 250

Mine idles at 1500 rpm which seems a bit high even for a single. I was thinking of slowing the idle to 1000 rpm to see if it helps ease those pesky first gear changes that continue to bug me.Is 1000 rpm a good starting point?

That's pretty much what I would have said. If I sold my 4 month old abs model now I'd probably be looking for around the 95k mark, not that I'm selling ;)

And the large Honda tank bag, one of those things that you wonder how you got by without one once you get used to having it.

Is a great piece of kit, and got to fully test the rain cover for it that's attached to a little pouch on it..... I couldn't have been wetter if I'd jumped into the pool by the time I got home, and the bag, it was bone dry underneath.

Have to say that the durability on my bag isn't exactly as planned. Just over one month and it's just about finished.

I use it most days for light traveling. A bike jacket and computer notebook in it. Always on the tank. Have had it full of shopping 2-3 times, and never overweight. And always on the tank. I noticed the top of the strap had become pulling away about a week ago.

57077783.jpg

And on the top of the bag a rather large hole was growing on a daily basis.13354798.jpg

Spoke to a clothes mender by my condo when walking past about sewing them up but after a minute of checking inside and out she said no. :(

Then this morning when getting off the bike I noticed the other end of the strap:

67882817.jpg

It's never been over loaded weight wise, and is only carried by the straps from my bike to my condo. I know a few others on here have the same bag and ye experienced anything like this? I've a feeling it was just a one off.

Just bought a cbr250r - love it to bits. But can anyone help with a query. I live near Ramintra road, anyone know where (preferably near) I can buy a decent motorcycle lock? Also, any advise on what make of lock would be best/available? Many thanks,

J

it takes about 20-30 seconds to steal a bike parked in public so a heavy chain fixed to something immovable is the best bet ,even then its only a deterrent so they will hopefuly move onto something easier

theres loads of vids on youtube of bikes being stolen and its scary how fast they can do it ..........

Pandarider is near you and they sell the Xena alarmed disk locks for 1500 Baht. Go to Laksi roundabout and take the first left down Phahonyothin. The shop is not far down on the other side so you'll have to do a u-turn.

I think it is Soi 50

If you are comming from Laksi you will see a Shell petrol station on your right. Take the next U-turn and get over to the left as Panda is only 200 or so meters up the road.

The CBR is light enough for two (strong) people to liftt, so if you are of a nervous disposition, get a cable / chain to anchor it to something.

The Xeon adaptor link is a pain but it works.

Have a look and a think....

they only have to lift the front wheel if the steering is locked and roll it , nobody would raise an eyebrow if a couple of thai guys in overalls and honda jackets wheeled it away casually

best to always try and park it in a attended car park where you cant get out without the parking ticket but if there isnt that id anchor it down to something thats not movable and hope for the best ......

Good point!

Xion also do very small freeze proof disc locks so get TWO to prevent wheeling :-)

Can still be lifted but it's harder to drag 100kg

Not such an issue with heavier bikes.

It's pretty challenging to drag 200+kg off to your lair!

Unless the xeon is on the rear.

3 thai guys could pull up alongside it in a mini-van with the rear seats removed (mirrored windows ),slide the door open and shes gone in seconds

i saw a youtube vid of just 2 guys doing it in USA to a (gsx-r i think it was ) but these were larger gentlemen than your average thai :)

The indicators (all 4) suddenly stopped working on mine last night (no flashing light on the dash either). This morning they suddenly came back on after about 30 mins of riding, then stopped working again 10 mins later and are yet to start again. Something similar happened when it was a month or two old and it was something to do with water getting into a fuse or something, but it's been perfectly dry here.

Have to say that for a 9 month old bike the amount of small little things going wrong with it is getting a bit tedious. which is a shame as it's so much fun to ride.
