Being at one of the local banks at the moment I did a quick poll following all scientific rules which normally apply to polls in Thailand and all (two) indicated a maybe good to good when asked about the coup.

Still, I have my doubts although I can understand why the general was fed up.

Why such thing happened? It is the outcome of Thai political parties' activities which have "invited!!!" Thai army to power. To restore peace, there was no alternative. Now I expect that Thai army will prove it's patriotism.

Just pray to god that the nation will still have food, Internet and social media rights.

Good... personally feel much safer now for my upcoming next trip to Thailand...

I suggest that you revisit the events that led up to 2010 before you start to feel that safe.

Just in. the TV Suthep fan club are holding a celebration meeting at a plush location that cannot be disclosed

Naaaaaaaaaaaah, it's a flip flop annual meeting..............thumbsup.gif

Surprise Surprise this has come as a shock to

the difference is the current remaining government will be stood down

Then elected back in at the soonest moment and we start the cycle again.

hi 5 rolleyes.gif

It's our third coup whilst living in Thailand, getting to be quite a regular occurrence.

Watching the news Suthep arrested Jatporn arrested there rounding up the protesters and sending them home. Atay calm and don't get in way of Military guess the General tired of dealing with children going to teach them a lesson in compermise.

Will they let Suthep out for his victory party or will they keep him in custody in the army camp?

\Is there a ticket to Dubai waiting for fatboy or will his master stab him in the back like the Emperor and Darth vadr?

Some countries are just not ready for democracy. Military Dictatorship may just be what Thailand needs for an extended period.

Fark! It's a duck!

Two days of quacking, walking, and appearing as such should have been subtle clues to only the carefully-discerning astute political observer.

Some countries are just not ready for democracy. Military Dictatorship may just be what Thailand needs for an extended period.

Thailand WOULD be ready for democracy IF the fugitive would leave her alone to `BE democratic!!!

And all in name of democracy and peace.... Frightens me.....

But its BETTER than a dictator running the country from Dubai - sorry a fascist criminal murdering lying theiving dictator!!

Thailand WOULD be ready for democracy IF the fugitive would leave her alone to `BE democratic!!!

I disagree having observed both sides and how they deal with Democracy. Both of which have no idea. I vote military rule.

Army and their masters losing face big time

What an odd comment.

The only people losing face are the inept government and the squabbling 'children' who could not compromise when offered the opportunity.

Seems they did not finished their homework as assigned....

So there, punished w00t.gif

Let us hope it is for the best.....

Surprise Surprise

~I respect that view but I want to see a day when my country CAN have a fair democratic election without buying, interference, threats and a dictatorship. Thaksin is a THOROUGHLY unpleasant person who will sink to any level to gain power and control. Murders, theft, arson are on his list of ok to do if it benefits ME - take him OUT of the equation and thailand CAN vote for people who genuinely WANT to run the country for the benefit of the majority!!

Seems the Military called a fake meeting of heads of both Reds & Yellows then arrested them all?

11 folks from what I can understand Suthep & Jutaporn included

HURRAH!!

Aska road. Army is taking Rally apart.

Yippeeeee

Yippee!

(About bl**dy time.)

Time will tell!

One can be assured that the weapons that the UDD denied owning will be needed by the UDD now as they did promise they would send an armed militia into Bangkok in the event a coup took place. The deny narrative does not hold now as events have changed so rhetoric has changed.

I hope there is no bloodshed and I hope peace prevails and there is a quick solution through reform to this situation.

Good Luck Thailand.

and the mud slinging between TVF members continues.. there's no winners here, the farmers who are still waiting to be paid must be thinking "<deleted>!! am I ever going to get paid or what???"

it's a bit rich as well calling the Thais children, when there's just as much bickering here, it's quite comical when both sides are trying to vie for the moral high ground, the fact is that neither side could agree on the colour of <deleted>, so the General has just frogmarched them right through it so they can what colour it is!!

Anybody think this will effect my swampi international flight out of Thailand tomorrow morning?
