I'm kinda hoping a Kawasaki 300 twin has some similar characteristics? Even if I did get the detuned version.

I somehow doubt it....I had an RD350B when I was 17 and two RD350LC's when I was just into my 20's...totally bonkers, but loved them all the same

Took bike to test centre today just down the road from out village handy.

They didn't bother checking frame number & engine number this time.

They put the pipe thing down exhaust, checked headlights high and low,  indicators but not the brakes lights.

Cost 840 bht, pick up tax disc & CTPL Tomorrow.

Crazy place Thailand. ????

I couldn't find a better place for my voltmeter, ( got a Chromed one behind the windshield), fag lighter and USB connectors.

In my saddlebags is an LED light with a 3 meter cable extension that allows me to get to any areas of the bike, should something happen.

And it's also great to have a light to be visible for the dreamers on the roads.

The thingy is near the battery and I've made a cable that lets me charge the battery through this thingy.

It shows about 0.5 volt less than I actually have, but that's normal with Chinese cra_.

I can pump up my tires when needed and do many other things with it.

It wasn't expensive at all, has a fuse and it's is worth gold. No need to take a lot of stuff out to get to the battery, I can charge it with that thingy.

I feel just like this guy  after the latest rebore  old Nessie (NSR) ran terrible couldn't get above 4-5000 rpm

" I've cleaned this carburettor ten times till Sunday "  555  ????

So after watching this video (and quite a few others) I decided to give the carbo change a go instead of  looking at the crankcase seals  left one seems ok no oil in the alternator cover   right hand side well still possibly bad    swapped the carb from an identical bike that I sold to  my  my wife's family  and hey presto alacazam !!!  it  "went" like its supposed  to.

So onto Lazada and ordered the finest "Grade A"   ell cheap-o knock off carb

for 247 Baht including postage :shock1:

At first fitting this morning if fired straight up but was revving way too high,

turns out the combined throttle and 2T oil cable was just a tad too short  and was keeping the slide open, rather than buy a new cable which may have not worked because maybe they machined the slide wrong ?   I  "lengthened" the cable by about 4mm  by  carefully filing down locating lugs at both ends.

A quick ride round the block and it seems to be running much better    I'll have to get an air filter and fuel line filter before giving it a longer testing.

Just how the hell can they make a carb for 247 baht  !!!!!!

Funny yesterday evening after going  for a blast then parking bike up outside my pub restaurant just around the corner from my house to stop and have beer.

Thai people were saying is your bike new and what is it, what's the cost.

Felt kinda proud of a 27 year old bike. ????????

If reference to me my bike is a classic what made supersport bikes what they are today.

Thai big bike owners have no clue whatsoever about my bike, never met one yet, only falangie big bike owners I've met have some ideas of motorbike history. .

It's a Honda 1993 CBR900RR a bike similar to what I had in UK which was a 1992 bike.

It change the history of what then were sportsbikes to supersport bike, it took 6 years for Yamaha to bring out the R 1 to top it but not by much.

Honda were glad to pass on the window maker to Yamaha..

Here's a tale of sprucing up a 1993 CBR900RR.  https://jalopnik.com/heres-exactly-what-it-cost-to-rebuild-a-1993-honda-cbr9-1819487774

The bike had less than 1000 miles on it!

Thanks for that, he did that in 2017 I started reviving mine in 2019.

My story is roughly the same of going over everything on the bike like he has but more.

The guy seems loaded, I had to do mine on a pension and costs could go sky-high so I've cleaned and tidied components best I can to make it somewhat aesthetically pleasing..

My bike has mph speedo and showed 46,000 miles so I did a basic check out on the engine, it was mostly all within measured tolerance limits, I guesstimate the exhaust valves will need new shims in about 5,000 miles.

My problems were mostly electronic the bike had had a hard life at some stage, a post would be like a book, many parts are no longer available so E-bay is my friend as well as google. ????

I checked here for availability.

Costs in baht 12,000 to buy, to get it started about 15,000 and further overhaul parts work and to bling it a bit about 25,000.

Yikes that's got to hurt what a burn that would make

Well it depends on how the Pvc pipe will react to fuel.

At a guess I would say OK.

There are many parts on my

Bike where parts were not available or like hidden away so I have had to improvise too

Looking at my rear tyre chicken strip, there was a time way back my previous bikes it was very small. ????????

Changed insurance companies on 2 of the bikes, the rest when they are due

On the Lifan-X 200; DS.

Battery went flat, so pushed her 1/2 km. towards shop

then was able to bump her to life on the down-cline.

Quoted 1200-baht for new.

The front disk brake has been squeaking

when not engaged; very annoying.

The mech took caliper apart and cleaned/?/fixed.

Topped brake-fluid front & rear.

Checked air filter, okay.

Adjusted chain and lubed it and other points.

Grand total: B1250;

+ 100 tip .

Good to go.

Yes I saw some online yesterday, after all my best efforts ????

I still haven't taken the bike out on the main road  as they are doing roadworks and the traffic is worse than normal and can't really  test it locally as someone already called the security to

"have a word about the noise"   !!!!

Made a  idle mixture screw adjustment tool ( untried as yet)

as its almost impossible to get a screwdriver  in there.
