Two women were killed and a man injured when a sedan collided with a pickup truck at an intersection in Muang district of Chiang Mai very early on Wednesday.

Police said the 12.10am accident happened at the intersection in front of Tesco Lotus Hang Dong shopping mall on Chiang Mai-Hod road in Tambon Mae Hia.

The two women in the car were killed. They were identified as the driver Patcharin Boonruang, 26, and Supaporn Promsuwan, 39.

The pickup driver has yet to be identified. He was severely injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police have yet to investigate the cause of the accident. They think one of the two vehicles may have violated the red light signal at the intersection.

What is your problem with that wording ?

Should the police have said *We dont think that one of the two vehicles........*?

RIP.

A traffic cop told me that the majority of fatal accidents happen at intersections.

Caution is the operative word.

Caution is an understatement of the year ... ?

Know the Hang Dong Road very well.  That is where I was taken out by a pick-up running a red light 11 years ago.  He then did a runner as is the normal procedure in Thailand.  Nothing changes in Thailand

What do you think would change during 11 Years in Thailand?? Think in centuries please!

Ok, Redlight runner I can believe Happens many times in Thailand Unfortunately Thais are not blessed with patience  Me first> Question do police carry breathalyzers with them when they go to the scene of an accident? Or don't they even know what a breathalyzer is? Ask this because one of the wife's employees Ringo The rockstar ( Nickname ) had an accident the other day on his bike. Happened about 9 at night and Ringo was totally pissed as usual Laughing about it later at the shop. He took right away off a taxi so the taxi did the right thing and ran into him knocking Ringo off his bike flat face onto the bitumen No helmet, of course, I said to Ringo " Gee. you were lucky"  Then I said Did they wack the breathalyzer on you Answer is" what is that"  Oh I said nothing just something normal cops would do.

Should be mandatory all police vehicles carry breathalysers in vehicles and also mandatory all drivers involved in accidents be breathalysed immediately or have blood sample taken on admission to hospital
