Sanook reported on what they described as another devastating blow to Thai tourism.

In the latest case the glue sniffing son of a downtown tailor went after two Chinese tourists with a wooden club as they innocently took photos in a tourist area.

The attack occurred in the Wua Lai Road area where there is a night market walking street popular with visitors.

The 24 year old glue sniffer told police that he had a paranoid attack and thought the tourists were out to get him.

He laid into the Chinese with whacks to the face and body.

They ran in terror covered in blood and were helped by locals who got them to hospital.

The suspect was soon in custody. His parents had tried to stop him without success, reported Sanook.

The unprovoked attack happened last night in front of Wat Nantharam as the tourists happily snapped holiday photos.

The attacker is now in custody.

Tourism from China has suffered recently after a series of incidents and this latest one will do nothing to restore confidence.

So who is in need of a PR CAMPAIGN NOW?

EDUCATIONAL &AWARENESS PR exercise is needed at home before going abroad to the poor Chinese tourists. Whatever the anti chinese/racists falangs say , the fact is Thailand prefers them as they bring in more $$$$ if not per capita then as A WHOLE

Andorra and San Marino will compensate the loss of Chinese :cheesy:

Don't forget all the visitor potential of Pitcairn Island and Antarctica.

PS;  If he was "high" on glue does that mean he "got stuck into them" and will he now come to a sticky end?

????

I see Chiang Mai has become the Crime Hub of Thailand.

It felt less safe to me even than Pattaya already years ago when I was living more or less in BKK. Starting with the red song-taews on arrival and through to the strange entertainment venues at night...

As friendly as a croc, quietly sitting in shallow water

370 posts.  Many of them rants about TV members and Mods.  Frankly, after 8 years, I don't know why you still bother, and why you let it get to you with such intensity.

It's true, why bother, fact is I don't have much hope for man, but I do hold out hope for humanity. Collectively.

Even tho Thailand may resemble a roomful of misfits at times.

meh.. intensity... hardly... Their just selected words.

There's a well known International World Class Family Resort in the south east that would dispute that.

Thailand streets (Bangkok & Pattaya) are full of the broken society! Masses of beggars and junkies ,that are going to sometimes “interact “ with foreigners ! Consequences follow
