City are struggling against a bunch of big physical cloggers on the worst pitch i can remember us on in decades. Could go either way this. Only Silva looks comfortable.

I've just put it on. Thanks for the heads up.

Well done Newport. Kept it a tight game for a long time. Goalie had a good game. Enjoyed it but glad when it was over.

Thought Silva showed what a brilliant player he is, he and only he looked so comfortable on a bog of a pitch.

Great save from Ederson early doors.

The two goals would of given Foden a lot of confidence.

Seems a very mature lad in his interview.

With Foden being the topic du jour for so many posters, there must be great joy out there following Foden's wonderful performance last night.

To be fair, he is a regular so why shouldn't he have a wonderful performance, anyway no one has ever said that he isn't a good player !

The score definitely flattered City.  Congrats to Newport for being excellent opponents despite being 83 places below City.  Yes, the pitch was a great leveler.  While Foden took his two goals really well, he was not that visible for most of the first half.  Ferna, as always,. amazing and hopefully he came away unscathed.

But are you feeling the joy this morning Alfie with Foden's start, full game, 2 goals and MOM (BBC)? :cheesy:

Was wondering which suburb of Stockport exactly Foden is from and it's Edgeley; when youre minutes out of Stockport station coming from the south you pass on the left Edgeley Park, County's ground - so he's from central Stockport. He's just bought his family a new house in upmarket suburb, Bramhall - very nice.

My favourite story of ex-City ball boy, ''Pep's lad' as the older pro's call him, is him as a 17 year old getting a call from vinny to come celebrate last season's Premier title win in a pub - he doesn't drink - in Hale and turning it down as he'd arranged to go fishing with his dad! Love it.

The score DID flatter City. It was very difficult but better players with greater fitness, who eventually got used to the bog, dominated and should have scored earlier but their goalie did well.

In Foden's defence, don't  think any City except Silva was visible first half.

Can see why Spurs, leicester and boro all suffered at Rodney Parade. Newport were excellent and should be very proud of their performance.

Some of our young lads getting good experience playing at the Bernabeu earlier today and beating Real Madrid on their home turf

City's Spanish club beat Real away, in their first league win since November, excellent! I turned off when they were losing to watch Ed Stafford, damn. I shall enjoy playing dumb and asking the Spanish Real fan at work how they got on.

Don’t know if you’ve seen the video before the game when Newport Manager Mike Flynn met Pep. He was a bit star struck I think and he said to Pep “It’s a pleasure to see you, you’re an absolute genius. I’m so proud to meet you.”

Nice

Nice touch Pep inviting the players to meet him too

I'll also call him a genius when he wins trophies with a club that hasn't been one of the top spenders in their division !

Nobody cares if you call him a genius or not. One of his fellow Managers in his profession said it and that carries a lot more credence

Star striker is Stuani who played as a right wing back at Boro and was considered a flop. How does that happen?

Sounds like Boro massively misjudged his skill set !

Maybe because (star) striker was played at right wing back?

That's football though isn't it. There are many instances of players doing better or worse at other clubs. Different club, culture, climate, manager/coach, personal  circumstances, etc.

Who would have thought Arsenal's star Sanchez would become ManUs flop Sanchez?

I asked the Spanish Real fan at work how they got on. "No comment" and he walked away.

Yeah quarters of CL should be the big test again. If we get through, imagine we get drawn AGAIN! ????
