complete misunderstanding, like what exactly.

How did the Frenchman cough up 50,000 , not from an ATM or a bank.

This story is full of holes, and why are the other bunch of farangs caught with this guy not also in the news for being fined or were they let off.

so if this happened to you would you publish it all over the net or just stay silent ?

don't bother answering I know already

What does this mean now? Obviously if you hang around on the beach you might get punished with a big misunderstanding - or?

I wonder how much of a refund they ended up getting?

Well, i'd guess both parties managed to reach an agreement, probably we'll never know the details.

It would appear that part of "The Agreement" is a Non-Disclosure Agreement signed/agreed by the Frenchman and his Wife.

I have not even read the whole article, so i don't know if this is a fact or an opinion, but even if it's just your opinion, it sounds quite reasonable to me ????

The whole muck up and cover-up is a crock of Shiittee in my book.  Why wasn't the husband at the meeting with the police chief and where is his <deleted> passport.  No answer to that one...

Why could he not get it from an ATM?

I can on mine.

Apologies, I see quite a few have answered to this already...........

It was either going to be "An honest mistake " or a "Misunderstanding"

this time Misunderstanding won,so the old guy did not pay 50,000 Baht

bail,he just thought he did,and 2000 Baht for escort home, that never

happened either, case closed, everybody happy, sort of

regards Worgeordie

Now perhaps the old boy just has to get it back off the wife.

Two large white tent has been erected, one across Central Festival, another across Tahitian Queen near soi 12. About 10 officers under each tent, ready to issue fine on the spot, I assume.

Can walk and jogging on the promenade.

Can't sit down. No drinking. No eating.

With 100's of signs in 5-6 languages, one can not claim it was a misunderstanding.

Told you before, you'd be surprised what comes off these pages and ends up on the right desk...... I'm happy for the old boy, Jesus knows he doesn't need that kind of agro at his time of life.........  Had a very similar situation last year with a friend of mine concerning immigration, couldn't get near them conventionally....... Post on here and whammo !     Sorry there's all been a big misunderstanding, big smiles all round, mate's back in the country with a free "get out of jail card".........  Slimy little toe rags taking a liberty for a bit of graft, not so clever when you haul em up.......

Always remember one thing here. The police are local franchisees and they are not law enforcement. And regardless of how much the administration claims the opposite, the police are 100% above the law. Any and all laws.

So, when something like this blows up and becomes public, everything is done to erase it, absolve the cops and make it go away. Who knows what took place with the wife, but someone obviously "worked on her".

However we know the facts. And the crooked cops were busted in the halls of public opinion. That is about as much of a victory as we can hope for.

Of course ! Basically lawless and the Brown uniform mob decide when the law is broken
