What is the current status of Pattaya?

I'm thinking of stopping via Pats for a few nights.

From what I understand the beaches are still closed. Is this correct?. If so it is quite stupid considering low level of deaths in Thailand from the china virus.

What about normal massage shops- not P4P (pay4play) ones. Are they open eg the ones on 2nd road?

Any bars open for a beer on beach road?

thanks

Beach and massage shops are open. Some massage shops have sold up or not re-opened, still plenty of choice. Restaurants are able to serve alcohol if you have a meal. Times restricted at present: 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 11pm. Again, some are not re-opened. Red Steps at Soi 2 on Beach Rd is one that is open.

Also on Jomtien beach there seemed to have been a major incident (maybe drowning) near to where the fishing boats land and sell their catch.

Beaches are open but large gathering and drinking alcohol is not permitted there.

Regular massage shops have opened, irregular too!

Bars are not allowed to open but restaurants can serve alcohol with meals.

The Bangkokians are pouring in at weekends.

Tree town in Buakhao is getting very popular at night usually until it's raided by police.

All types of massages are available incl P2P. Bars expected to open 2 July, hopefully gogos not too long after.

It's funny on thai visa no one wants a P2P massage...

????Yea it would be real stupid to make a trip to Pattaya since beaches and massage places are still closed, let not forget that there is no booze and a curfew in place too!????

About 10 days ago the "Tree Tops Scene" seemed to fulfill the needs and desires of the after dark crowd  from farangs to ladies to locals.  It was quiet and peaceful around town, safe to cross a road, and all most needed to have "fun".   I am going back soon.

Mate come on down. Hotel will be pleased with the business.

Beaches are open. IMOH Jomtien is good for walking and very busy at the weekend. You can have a beer/wine at a restaurant.

rumour has it bars will open on July 1 so may be best to wait for that is what you prefer.

Any hotels in soi 7 or soi 8 area open?

Soi 7 et soi 8 are depressed, with only few massages shops open

The natural beach hotel on beach road (Not far from soi 7 and 8 )

is open with nice promotions around 500 bahts\night

Definitely not a troll!   I said it!  See when you take the time and think about it real hard?  " my understanding " you said closed!  Now take a good look at your answer " open "  see you already knew the answer before you asked the question!????

As 'the other member' I can only say I live here near Pattaya, and was in town at the weekend.

For me it's the same as it was the one day I visited in 2007:
"To be avoided."

The only times I travel there are 1. If my wife gets a discount weekend stay at a premium hotel - then I tend to stay in the hotel or 2. To visit my brother-in-law - but he now lives and works in Ayuthaya because there's nothing for him in Pattaya.

So the 'current status' is 'completely devoid of interest'.

Coming back yesterday from a week in Pattaya.

Not much to add what qualified members wrote about restaurants, hotels, massage places, beaches open.

Experienced clamp down on Treetown twice.

Kills the mood and serves nothing.

But with all the bars closed some areas feel a bit spooky.

At this occasion you notice the lack of street lights in some Sois.

LK Metro most well known but not the only one.

My hotel with about 100(?) rooms open and occupancy about 10 rooms.

Most times alone on the pool.

Missing so many faces from staff.

Traveling to/from by flight to Suvarnabhumi is worth a separate story.

A 60 million passenger airport with a handful of domestic flights.

Seeing is believing.

Who goes to the beach in Pattaya? Really, you are going for the beaches? If beaches are important to you, go to a nice one.

Have fun!

The locals certainly do.

True on a limited basis. Thais are not similar to Westerners re sunbathing etc.

On Pattaya Beach I mostly see Thais gather baby clams for meals. And the vendors. Do you see other Thais?

More go to Jomtiem, but some years ago they used the North end very much. No parking spaces part of the problem.
