Therein lies the problem: EU ORDERS THE UK....God, please, leave now!

  • So Major,May and Pelosi aren’t happy, that’ll do for me. Carry on Boris.

  • This is exactly where Boris Johnson wanted to be at all times - his parliament forced him into deal negotiations that he never wanted. Now he thinks that he has a way out and can blame the EU for it.

Thanks to @candide for the reminder in another topic of what Johnson said about the agreement last January.

Brexit: Boris Johnson signs withdrawal agreement in Downing Street

"The prime minister hailed a "fantastic moment" for the country....

He said he hoped it would "bring to an end far too many years of argument and division".......

"The signing is a fantastic moment, which finally delivers the result of the 2016 referendum......"

No mention anywhere last January by Boris nor any of his supporters of the Northern Irish Protocol being the minor matter requiring clarification some members here are now claiming it to be in their desperate attempts to justify Boris going back on his word!

What I fail to understand is how a Bill can go before parliament for ratification without it being crystal clear in every respect. Surely the Political Declaration was the document for issues requiring clarification.

The other point in question, how can Bojo dispute something that has Royal Assent, is he telling us he misled the Queen.

However what was Milliband doing questioning Boris, I thought that Angela Raynor was Deputy Leader of the Labour Party................... Oh wait I know.

No he didn't

However why do you think the sins of one justify the sins of another?

Careful editing footage from the free press of course!

It's video from HoC broadcast .....I happened to watch it live from HoC and Boris had the craaaap ripped out of him. He sat there almost in tears like a naughty schoolboy......probably one of the most humiliating episodes for a British PM since WW2

Yes he did!

It depends on your interpretation of a sin, Boris is doing this to keep the UK together, Milliband voted to bomb million of innocent Iraqis, now then which one would you interpret as a sin?

How is a LIVE broadcast edited?

Some fear Johnson views a no-deal exit as a useful distraction from the coronavirus pandemic.

These kinds of useless lying statements show up in the news far too much these days. As if people are sitting at a table and someone says "How about as a useful distraction from the coronavirus pandemic we go ahead with a no-deal exit"?  And then someone says, "That's a great idea, pass this on to the negotiators in writing - oh wait let's just whisper it to them this might get out"

While I suppose it could be true that a few simpletons view there world this way (those who think the Earth flat)  - the manner in which news media parrots, or makes up, or pushes forward such ideas that are ridiculous and childish is just getting old. For the record Reuters stuffs these kind of sideways comments to add flourish into nearly everything they write it seems I think to establish some sort of non-existent controversy, or to push forward the most ridiculous they can find.

Usually because when Boris is getting asked tough questions Brexiteers hide behind the sofa.

Has he done that Andrew Neil interview yet that he promised to do?

The three countries which export the most to the EU are, in order: China, with 361 billion euros; the United States, with 231 billion euros; and Russia, with 143 billion euros. Not one of them has an FTA with the EU. Instead they have a number of ad hoc sectoral agreements. We can do the same, with them and/or other countries, if we deem it to be in our interest to do so. What they can do the UK can do better. But we should also work on increasing our self-sufficiency by bringing manufacturing jobs home. English Lives Matter. Rule Britannia. Lift the Lockdown > WTO Brexit > End Immigration

Difference is the UK is not China, the US or Russia. We are a somewhat pathetic xenophobic island lying just off the coast of Europe.

Nobody really cares about the UK any more. Small fish big pond.

Wrapping yourself in the union flag and singing Land of hope and glory really does not work.

When in reality the UK is the least xenophobic/racist country in all europe, but it proves that you love to talk your country down because of your great big bias, you really should be ashamed of yourself, but it would be unusual for a nationalist to be so, so full of hate.

No mate. We both know the driver behind Brexit was immigration.

Why am I going to hate?

My life is good.

The EU is given to bullying and dictating.  What did the EU expect when it forced the UK into a corner? The critics were never in favour of Brexit so it is to be expected that they will opine negatively. This isn't the first time the EU has done this in its trade negotiations. One need only look at the blackmail and last minute brinkmanship that occurred during the CETA negotiations with Canada. It's a repeat of some of the tactics.

Not that the UK and its collection of twits doesn't share a large part in this mess. There is an arrogance in the UK government that assumes the world will fall over itself seeking  a trade deal with the country. Aside from the economic migrants seeking entry, no one is really interested. The UK needs to look itself in the eye and realize that independence from Brussels and its dictates comes at a price. The people must pay that price or forever  be subject to the  the same issues that forced the Brexit in the first place.
