How are the bars, restaurants, agogos, massage shops, gentleman clubs and any business doing during covid?

I hear some of those gals go days without a customer. Many are just barely hanging on. Most have gone back home. So many bars have closed. So many shops.

And now I hear they ordered another shutdown in Bangkok? What kind of relief is the ridiculously rich army offering the people?

Well providing the drink bought for the girl over the internet is actually alcohol and not water shots!

That's only one example of purchasing alcohol over the internet, if it is actually alcohol, as you allude to.

I thought the law was more aimed at buying a bottle of Sangsom, for example, and having it delivered to an address, in a similar way the food delivery apps operate.

Well I was involved in a sub-discussion about the way many GG bars are now on-line streaming and getting sad souls many miles away to buy a drink for a bikini clad gal scrounging in front of a camera. Quite a few have committed to this idea and I wonder if they have any real on-site customers at all. This opens new avenues like savings on the venue, savings on graft, a wider audience and girls who need to do very little work, and not get mauled. I expect this will remain a feature after Covid.

The on-line sales ban is just a nod to the puritans, and a great inconvenience to those without their own vehicles, who would normally have a few cases and bottles delivered to their door. It is still how 99% of the beer bars and GGBs and even my neighbour get booze, what is the difference if it is a website or simply a phone call?

A further business opportunity would be for say Soi 6 Nighwish bars to do porn videos like Asianstreetmeat and all the other ones using the girls in the bars who punters can go and see after

Well it looks like a new Pattaya lockdown is here......This thread will be getting busy as the marginal businesses shut the doors forever...

Yes Buakhao bars, massage shops have been told to close, even Pratumnak Park they've shut the gates. Restaurants takeaway only. Looks like they aren't following straight away

The Soi 6 bars could be making some money by staging online "private shows" upstairs for punters willing to pay.

The problem is, if it becomes popular, and stays after covid, the girls could freelance from their rooms, and arrange to meet tourists / customers when they eventually holiday to Thailand.

The bar misses out on a staff member, lady drinks, bar fines and short room hire,  and when the bar closes, so do the Thai police, in tea money.

Here's a foreign couple that were arrested in Krabi for making their own movies.  There was also a case of a foreigner and a Thai bar girl live streaming themselves having sex for paying customers.

Why do you care, are you thai?

Geez, a tough question, Harry, but I will try to answer it for you.

Until a high percentage of the Thai population is vaccinated, boarders will not open, thus tourists can not return, hence the Thai economy slips further down the hole with even more people becoming impoverished.

The vaccine is only 95% effective, that's 5 in every 100 tourists coming to Thailand that MAY have covid.

The Thai government would need to vaccinate a decent amount of the population to protect from this 5%.  Will they pay to do so?  Have they ordered the vaccine?  Are they they making / copying their own?  How long will that take to test?  How long will it take to at least vaccinate 50% of the Thai population.  These are all questions that will determine when boarders open.

There is no guarantee that your 100 Tourists are all free from transmitting the virus.

That's true, but if all 100 of them were vaccinated, in their home country, prior to travel, and a high percentage of Thai's were vaccinated, the odds are a lot better than 100 vaccinated tourits coming to Thailand and being in close contact with Thai's who have not been vaccinated.

A bit surprised to see 3 prominent street side bars open along Buakow this afternoon with plenty of drinkers. I may be wrong but I didn't think any of them were restaurants but I guess they must have the right licences.

Or connections ????
