Being able to spend time with family and having plenty of free time were among the reasons that made people happy during the Covid-19 crisis, a poll revealed on Sunday.

Suan Dusit Poll surveyed people on 10 things that gave them happiness.

The poll was conducted between January 15 and 22 and involved 1,136 respondents nationwide.

When asked about what makes them happy amid the Covid-19 crisis (multiple choice):

- 86.92 per cent said they have plenty of time to do as they like.

- 75.22 per cent said they can live with their family.

- 56.10 per cent said they don't have to get up early.

- 29.81 per cent said they could take care of their health.

- 13.46 per cent said they could adjust themselves to be in line with the online world.

- 13.08 per cent said they still have an occupation.

- 10.44 per cent said they could travel without worries of traffic jams.

- 8.18 per cent said Thai medical personnel are performing their duty well.

- 5.03 per cent said they could see Thai people's cooperation and kindness.

- 1.89 per cent said natural resources would have a chance to recover.

Paisan Kongsatitsathaporn, acting director of Suan Dusit University Public Relations Division, said changing one's attitude was important because there was always happiness in every crisis.

"If we can overcome the sorrow, we will find happiness at last," he said.

Here in Pattaya I enjoy that I got rid of this cracy noise of the bars - at least for a while.

Perhaps consider moving to a residential zone and out of earshot ?

The topic is "What makes people happy during the Covid-19 crises" and not how stupid can one be to buy a condo here in Pattaya...

Probably on course to meet that by the end of this year.

What makes people happy during the Covid-19 crisis.....

Getting Laid

Drinking a cold Cider

Writing me ex's phone number on all the toilet stalls.

For me, it is wearing a face mask. At long last I have a legitimate excuse for covering up my ugly mug.

Before the virus I traveled a LOT, Italy and other places. When I got to a new town I'd make a mental experiment: if some science fiction event took place and I was stuck here like it is for the rest of my life but otherwise ok, how would I feel about it?

Then the virus made the experiment real, and I am stuck in Bangkok, also my normal base. One big advantage of LOS is that a solo traveler never has to worry about sexual frustration,  there is relief at every corner, which is not true in many towns in Italy and many parts of Europe which have become politically correct in this regard.

So I thank fate for small favors, and study Europe on my laptop, preparing for the time I can return to the lands of no massage but the birth of western culture.

The continuing rise of good, online order, chilled/frozen western food, and delivered nationwide.

I have never eaten so well pre-covid and now regularly use PaleoRobbie, Britishop, and now Siamburi's.

No more 5 hour return trips to the nearest Makro/BigC to buy bacon for me now.

What The living daylights are you on about?

The thought of lining up the CCP and letting loose with a sten gun.

Nailing the CCP to a cross, gutting them and watching their guts spew out onto the floor.

Watching the CCP in a reality TV show.....CCP bomb disposal.

Anything that involves watching the CCP die an excruciating death.

Why did u move there?

Just the lack of traffic on the roads  and all the Chinese tour buses blocking everything here in Pattaya.

Because I am the most stupid idiot one can imagine.

I would say lots of things, All the home cooking my wife is a brilliant cook whatever I want, Home baked bread not bought a loaf must be almost a year, Buying my beer from makro sitting by the pool having a beer and some snacks watching football.

Instead of wasting my life away in a bar,

My wife is a lot happier Im not going to the bar everyday, at weekends have a day out drive around stop for a coffee somewhere then go have lunch, Pick some place I have not been to before like yesterday we went to the Three Monkeys superb place I will go again,

For me the opportunity to leave a bit my isolated house in Nakhon Nowhere for Pattaya.

I rediscover there this unique atmosphere of cheerful and playful young girls,

I don't think I've ever heard a more poetic, rosy eyed description of prostitution in Pattaya!
