Trump to proclaim himself the future of the Republican Party in speech

No, I am just appalled by the hatred and polarization by the anti-Trump supremacy movement here.

Attacking Trump supporters at any chance, claiming all are racist, mindless, etc is extremely sad and says a lot more about them as human beings. Trump had good and bad policies, like all presidents.

Which were the good ones?

I pray he [Trump] is the Republican candidate. Independents like myself are only wishing this enthusiasm stays in play another four years. Guarantee he looses! Any takers? Glad I won last time I made my bet.

Were you appalled by the attack and insurrection on the Capitol Building in Washington? I did'nt see much love there?

Yes

In this regard you differ from Trump who delayed taking action to clear the Capitol of the insurrectionists and told them he loved them.

Did you forget already he is not on the ballot in 2022? Bigly Republican loses like this Clinton was able to accomplish with his midterm

I think the money is on Trump facing some serious criminal charges in the next two years.

He may not be wearing prison stripes but he will be in serious trouble.

Why would you be appalled by people who are against a politician who lies? Who supports violence. And was the main instigator of the invasion of the Capitol.  Who is probably responsible  for the deaths of thousands of Americans.

So yes. Many of us here can't wrap our heads are why any person would support a politician like that. Just doesn't make sense, and in our minds, impossible to justify. No matter his limited achievements.

He probably said the same thing to Stormy Daniels.............before he paid her $130,000 to keep quiet!

Is there any crowd funding for this?

Not sure if you play golf, but it isn't a heck of a lot of exercise if one rides a cart, then just gets out to hit a shot. It's probably about the same calorie burn and cardio as chess.

Totally off topic but very interesting nonetheless:

"Robert Sapolsky, who studies stress in primates at Stanford University, says a chess player can burn up to 6,000 calories a day while playing in a tournament, three times what an average person consumes in a day."

That's out of order, calling those with different view from you 'mindless'. Just out of order, but not alone in these threads.

This is flaming.

I’m inclined to agree.

The causes of Trump’s supporters adulation  of their idol is a lot more complex than a simple measure of IQ.

Amongst the reasons is the fact that across swathes of America the only news millions of Americans hear comes from two rightwing Trump supporting sources Fox News and Talk Radio (most of which is owned and controlled by Sinclair Media).

These two ‘news sources’ pour out a constant stream of lies, misinformation and attacks on any negative news of Trump.

Trump lies, his supporters don’t mind at all, he robs a charity fund, his supporters don’t mind at all, he stands by while Russia offers a bounty on Americans, his supporters don’t mind at all, he incites a terrorist attack on the nation’s Capitol, his supporters don’t mind in the least.

Nothing gets through.

But I’m still inclined to agree, not mindless but willing participants in the warping of their own minds.

It's sad that many millions of idiots continue to believe all these lies.

What must happen before these people accept reality?

He is the "poster boy" for the weak and simpleminded and those who would follow a huckster to the ends of the earth for a supposed "miracle cure".

Reality cannot be accepted by these people because they don't have the intelligence to see through the lies, or perhaps it's because they like to live in an alternative reality.

It's a wonder that someone in amongst that poor deluded lot hasn't come up with an idea to "channel trumps thoughts" to his base, once he departs this mortal coil, which hopefully will be well before 2024.

I am sorry for Joe Biden if he takes this award because I know the big guy is doing his best no matter how bad things get. Almost 1 month in and so much love for you, it's a shame it's our enemies that love you.

Here's some of Trump's supporters recently. You be the judge if they are of sound mind.

Looking at that video is absolutely startling as to the stupidity of some people.

It's just unbelievable what these people think, and does not bode well for the future of the US....how on earth do people actually get to be like this?

Trump is the ultimate conman. He played to the emotion of those who wanted emotional release and validation. Most of his fervent supporters know that he is highly flawed and has serious character issues. But they will disregard all his failings because Trump validate and give them the messages that they want to hear. The conservative right is very insecure, frightful and full of anxiety of the changing demography. Trump saw those deficits and the power greed of the GOPs and have them conned.

It is a sad state of affairs when a twice impeached criminal still has support from the Republican party.  His spread of lies seems to have no effect on his hypocritical conservative Christian and radical right base.  The only constituency that he aids is the Trump family and radical conservative terror groups.

Fortunately, the only way any Republican can win is to take advantage of the electoral college's archaic rules.  The USA is a republic and not a democracy.  Unfortunately, the republicans have been able to take advantage of the minority provisions in the constitution to get elected many times while trailing in the popular vote.

He needs to get in line behind a swag of Republicans. Nixon, Reagan, Bush big and little and the contender, Trump! Mighty fine record they have of bad presidents!

I agree with your analysis, however I think that such 'constituents' were on the playing field long before ex Pres.Trump came along being members of militia groups, conspiracy fantasy internet sites, white supremacist forums, gun nut publications, millennial Christians etc, etc.

Trump was their ideal 'moonshot' so they must be besides themselves with rage at the present moment in which case (apart from anger)denial, displacement and projection will be their best friends.

Agreed.

I am far from fond of Trump but it’s unlikely that the Republican Party has any other candidate that can pull in the kind of voter numbers that Trump did.  It’s a bit unfair to paint everyone with the same brush but I am going to take a leap here and say that the majority of those in the Republican Party care more about being in power than they do about the well being of their voters.

I can't remember exactly where I saw this quote but I think it sums up quite a lot;

'Not all Trump fans are racist, but all racists are Trump fans'.

I for one will be very happy if I never hear or see his face again.

But the gun totting, white middle class non smart folks will still believe in Santa

But, there's always the upcoming March presidential election coming to a parallel universe nearest you, as Trump loyalists tell us.  This morning, I was just chatting to Q about this while Jewish space lasers were destroying non-kosher meats.  Also, it brings a whole new meaning to a bris.  ????

Well, I guess the Scientific Revolution did not happen to everyone.

You're already labeling Biden after less than 2 months in office. You should take a step back and digest what you are saying.

Exactly. Well put. Sad so many fall for it.
