Wonder what the Yacht anchor fee is for thecYSQ location

Quite large if you drop your anchor on a power or other cable, and don't think about feeding the fish.

Tourists will have to wear the tracker at all times. The data will then be analysed prior to the traveller disembarking their boat.

I think whoever derives these things is a fan of Douglas Adams, I'm sure up next it will be, quote.

Multi-planetary tourism problems

‘…the fabulously beautiful planet Beta-selamin is now so worries about the cumulative erosion by ten billion visiting tourists a year that any net imbalance between the amount you eat and the amount you excrete whilst on the planet is surgically removed from your body weight when you leave: so every time you go to the lavatory it is vitally important to get a receipt.

Good they have smart devices. Can't remember when I run into a smart official the last time?

This is just a drop in the Ocean... how many of the annual 40million tourists arrived by yacht?

As long as there is any quarantine, majority of tourists will stay away.

It is about quality tourists and those with Money.  They feel that these types are super wealthy and will pay to play and stay.

A brilliant idea. How many yachts arrive monthly under normal conditions?

Usually quite a lot obviously not this year, From March is normally when they leave especially the sailing boats something to do when the winds change, Where I live at Nai Harn in the south of Phuket we have many boats parked up in the bay this is the time they leave and sail south.

This year has seen very few

Wishful thinking, they will sail by on their way to a friendlier berth.

Another stupid idea that shows how those at the TAT are out of touch with reality. So these yacht tourists will be confined to their yacht's.

Where will these tourists spend their money that Thailand will benefit from? Besides a 'parking fee' what else. These from the TAT are not the brightest lamps in the street.

I can't wait for the next idea that will keep my obliques exercised for the week.

I'm in yacht quarantine now off Phuket and wearing one. I don't see the big deal. It recoreds temperature, blood pressure? and heart rate from what I can see

Get in the speed boat or small watercraft and go for a spin.  Curious to see if a Navy destroyer is dispatched for not staying on the Yaht, yet no other folks around.

Another bad headline.  Should have been more specific.  Thailand to track visitors arriving by yacht to Phuket.

Tourists in Phuket who arrive on yachts will be required to wear a smart wristband to monitor them

Somehow I don't think wealthy yacht owners who feel like going land-side for a tour or a meal will want to be tagged like a criminal...

It was the first line of the post... why be so picky?

Must be a lot of people arriving by boat in the past and/or in the future ????

Could be worse ... Thailand could copy China and require ANAL SWABS of all foreigners.  That would be apropos.

They are really trying hard to put as many nails on the tourism coffin as they can, aren't they?

They are trying the opposite.

Not true. My friend would certainly wear one of it meant he could China here for a holiday.

A good idea.

But in the end it is always the same end result, not many want to play the games to come here for a two or three week vacation.  Different with the longer term people who would sacrifice a week or two knowing they were here for a longer term.  Yacht folks tend not to stay in one place for weeks on end unless it is near the end of the season and they want to escape the bad weather out on the big pond.

Back to the same nonsense again?
It will not happen.
Nor will there be "meters" on motorbike taxies - nor will it be prohibited to transport people in the back of a pick-up.
Yet we will continue to sell alcohol ONLY from 11:00 – 14:00 & 17:00 – 00:00 - And Gambling as well as prostitution is not allowed.
