TNN explained the * as being vaccinations approved by the Thai authorities and the WHO

Thailand has approved, AZ, J&J and the Chinese concoction (Sinovac).

WHO has currently only approved, AZ, J&J, Pfizer.

Link to current WHO pdf vaccine approval  and pending list: https://extranet.who.int/pqweb/sites/default/files/documents/Status_COVID_VAX_23March2021_0.pdf

So according to the article the only vaccines that would qualify you for a shorter quarantine are: AZ, J&J, Pfizer, Sinovac.

Not so. The Thai Embassy in Australia has all of these applicable for a COE

I would tend to believe the Thai Embassy in Australia, so the article above as quoted by TNN is wrong, no surprise there then.

Key paragraph:

  • Quarantine is 7 days for tourists who have been vaccinated* fully (we assume that means twice) 14 days prior to arriving in Thailand.

Good news, stepping in the right direction.

For the last couple of weeks the requirement was as above plus vaccination record only acceptable if vaccination occurred 90 or less from the date of arrival in Thailand.  This item (90 days aspect )isn't mentioned in the order/policy released yesterday.

That's good news - but perhaps it also means that the 90 days aspect was missed when they wrote the policy - hope not!

Hopefully very soon all the ASQ hotels will reveal their 7 days rates.

What's happening about the free to wander the hotel grounds and use the facilities after day 3?

Is that not happening now?

Meridien saying no gym or swimming pool full stop. Allowed outside for 1 hour after day 6 only.

so a family of 2 adults and one child, the adults who have been vaccinated but as no children are permitted to be vaccinated would have to stay for 10 days in Quarantine, a majority of tourists will have children so 10 days in quarantine whatever.

Personally, with no private hospital that I'm aware of yet offering safe vaccines, I'm seriously thinking of locking up the house and flying back to Britain, which is now a pretty safe place, and getting safer every day, and watching the impending Thai Covid disaster from a safe distance.

Really? UK had 4052 cases yesterday with 43 deaths.

A majority of tourists will have children? Really? But yes according to the directive you'll be doing 10 days if you have children.

Thaiest.com states the ppl can use the pool to swim etc after the first negative Covid test....  no hotel I communicated with is allowing that.

Definitely plenty of misinformation floating around,

You would need Covid Free Certificate and to quarantine 10 days upon arrival in UK all borders are presently closed.

The Devil is in the details. How many “FAKE” vaccination documents you think will be produced and how exactly does the Thai Govt expect to verify these documents?

There is no universal document like a passport. It’s simply a piece of paper.

Didn’t a group of Thai women and migrants sneak across the border without undergoing quarantine?  So

Much for Thai rules regarding safeguarding the country.

Assuming this is fact (can't trust anything in print today):-

That'll get the punters packing their bags and all the other protocol's in place for a mind boggling holiday!

Packing their bags for a minimum 7 days in quarantine... even if they've had two jabs... very unlikely!

It could be confusing as it may depend on whether it actually means "and" or does it mean "or". If its the latter then based on what you've said then yes that's correct but if it's the former then it's only  those approved by both which is AV and J&J.

The government has said I believe that they will only accept Vaccination Certificates recognised by the World Health Organisation, currently there isn’t one.

Which countries have the mutations deemed by the ministry of public health and require the full 14?

I'm guessing that all 'farang' countries have some incidence of the mutations. So no farangs can qualify?

But is that for 7, or 10, or 14 days Q?

And all countries "without" mutations, just don't know it.
