CCSA small committee spokeswoman Dr Apisamai Srirangsan said that today's the day that new quarantine and testing regulations come in.

They have been signed off by PM Prayuth Chan-ocha the head of the big committee.

Here are the details:

Quarantine is 7 days for tourists who have been vaccinated* fully (we assume that means twice) 14 days prior to arriving in Thailand.

Quarantine is 10 days for those who have not been vaccinated or not received the full doses

TNN explained the * as being vaccinations approved by the Thai authorities and the WHO.

Quarantine of 14 days remains for those coming from areas with virus mutations as designated by the Ministry of Public Health.

The number of tests for seven day quarantiners is one only after 5-6 days, 10 day people must do two and 14 day folk must have three.

Thailand has approved, AZ, J&J and the Chinese concoction (Sinovac).

WHO has currently only approved, AZ, J&J, Pfizer.

Link to current WHO pdf vaccine approval  and pending list: https://extranet.who.int/pqweb/sites/default/files/documents/Status_COVID_VAX_23March2021_0.pdf

So according to the article the only vaccines that would qualify you for a shorter quarantine are: AZ, J&J, Pfizer, Sinovac.

Not so. The Thai Embassy in Australia has all of these applicable for a COE

I would tend to believe the Thai Embassy in Australia, so the article above as quoted by TNN is wrong, no surprise there then.

Key paragraph:

  • Quarantine is 7 days for tourists who have been vaccinated* fully (we assume that means twice) 14 days prior to arriving in Thailand.

Good news, stepping in the right direction.

For the last couple of weeks the requirement was as above plus vaccination record only acceptable if vaccination occurred 90 or less from the date of arrival in Thailand.  This item (90 days aspect )isn't mentioned in the order/policy released yesterday.

That's good news - but perhaps it also means that the 90 days aspect was missed when they wrote the policy - hope not!

Hopefully very soon all the ASQ hotels will reveal their 7 days rates.

What's happening about the free to wander the hotel grounds and use the facilities after day 3?

Is that not happening now?

Meridien saying no gym or swimming pool full stop. Allowed outside for 1 hour after day 6 only.

so a family of 2 adults and one child, the adults who have been vaccinated but as no children are permitted to be vaccinated would have to stay for 10 days in Quarantine, a majority of tourists will have children so 10 days in quarantine whatever.

26 new cases today, I only hope they're prepared for the 26,000 new cases that will soon become normal once they drop the quarantine requirement.

They've been successful in managing the virus so far as their extremely laborious, manual track-and-trace system works very well for low numbers of infections, but once numbers in the thousands start appearing it will no longer work, the effort required means that they'll always be behind the curve and falling further behind every day. Given that the Thai national vaccination programme makes the EU one look like it's rocket-propelled, that means when the kee hits the fan in the not-to--distant future, Thailand will have nothing left to fight it with.

Personally, with no private hospital that I'm aware of yet offering safe vaccines, I'm seriously thinking of locking up the house and flying back to Britain, which is now a pretty safe place, and getting safer every day, and watching the impending Thai Covid disaster from a safe distance.

Really? UK had 4052 cases yesterday with 43 deaths.

A majority of tourists will have children? Really? But yes according to the directive you'll be doing 10 days if you have children.

Doom and gloom doom and gloom. Always curious of the mindset of people that wish bad things to happen. Is it the told ya so thing or do you just get your jollies from others potential misery?  Can only imagine how desperately sad you'll be if this ends up working, which I hope for one is a success.

Thaiest.com states the ppl can use the pool to swim etc after the first negative Covid test....  no hotel I communicated with is allowing that.

Definitely plenty of misinformation floating around,

You would need Covid Free Certificate and to quarantine 10 days upon arrival in UK all borders are presently closed.

Let's face it, nearly all of us stranded outside are just going to grin and bare it and wait till October and hopefully some sort of normality if their plans work out. With constant and potential change from Thailand  - and our own regions - it's not worth the hassle yet. Even the airlines are still yoyo'ing

Bye, then. Don’t let the door hit your fearmongering posterior on the way out.

Fantastic news, tourists will leave quarantine just in time to catch their flights home.

The Devil is in the details. How many “FAKE” vaccination documents you think will be produced and how exactly does the Thai Govt expect to verify these documents?

There is no universal document like a passport. It’s simply a piece of paper.

Didn’t a group of Thai women and migrants sneak across the border without undergoing quarantine?  So

Much for Thai rules regarding safeguarding the country.

Packing their bags for a minimum 7 days in quarantine... even if they've had two jabs... very unlikely!

So according to the article the only vaccines that would qualify you for a shorter quarantine are: AZ, J&J, Pfizer, Sinovac.

It could be confusing as it may depend on whether it actually means "and" or does it mean "or". If its the latter then based on what you've said then yes that's correct but if it's the former then it's only  those approved by both which is AV and J&J.

The government has said I believe that they will only accept Vaccination Certificates recognised by the World Health Organisation, currently there isn’t one.

Which countries have the mutations deemed by the ministry of public health and require the full 14?

I'm guessing that all 'farang' countries have some incidence of the mutations. So no farangs can qualify?

And all countries "without" mutations, just don't know it.
