Perhaps the China vaccine is just an insurance that if the virus didn't get you the vaccine would. I mean, got to have a backup plan, eh?

It's worrying. I guess I'll wait until I can get my hands on whatever my dad got in the UK; presumably, if he can take it at 90+, I can take it at 66. I'm assuming we're genetically similar, I'd have to ask my dear old mum to be sure, but that would take a seance.

The second Webfact posting says that no blood clots were found. The patients had suffered 'stroke like' symptoms.

I keep myself pretty fit, don't smoke, drink on occasion and i'm not very old.

I strongly disagree! A vaccine helps your body defend against the worst symptoms of the disease, often this means there will be no symptoms at all, it does not prevent you from contracting the disease in the first place.

 

EDIT TO ADD: my bad, I should have written the word virus, not the word disease, but I think it was clear what was intended.

What is even more unhealthy is the explosion of unsubstantiated opinion.

This is just wrong on so many levels.  As with ALL things manufactured in China it is shoddy and poorly made without any real testing.  This vaccine should be barred from use.

Definition of immunity

 

: the quality or state of being immune especially : a condition of being able to resist a particular disease especially through preventing development of a pathogenic microorganism or by counteracting the effects of its products

 

No where does it say that a vaccine prevents a person from contracting the virus, a vaccine is not the same as mosquito repellent!

Sinovac just needs some better marketing.  Why not rename the vaccine, ‘Covid-21’?

All vaccines  have shown various efficacy in a range  from 50<90+ against the original and predominant strains apart from the South African strain.

Maybe no vaccine can be 100 percent effective, but I'd want a lot better than what Sinovac offers. From Wednesday's London Times:

 

China's Sinovac vaccine, which is widely used in the developing world, offers little protection until after the second dose according to Chilean scientists. The jab was only 16 per cent effective in guarding against Covid-19 after one dose, rising to 67 per cent efficacy after the second dose, according to a study of 10.5 million people.

And that is not the usual pointless 'poll' result we are usually fed after 300 people were asked. This is over 10 million who were checked.
