No idea why but we never seem to get one where the battery indicator works on the dash. One day the car will just not start so you know it's time for another!, around about now. What's a good one and price? You can get Panasonic for about 1300 baht on Lazada but would they be genuine? Cockpit offered to put a new one in for 2k plus last week but thought that sounded a bit much.

Our Yaris 1.5 was sold with 6 year old GS heavy duty battery in it still reading strong.

Don't care about cost I just like a long life battery.

Genuine Toyota, 15 months!  Long life if you're measuring it against that of a mayfly.

I haven't got a quality battery for less than 1800 (exchange for the old one).
GS is what is favored here.

As far as I remember the original Toyota from 17 years ago, lasted about 13 years (car with very low mileage though).

Our car from new had very low millage, the toyota battery lasted under 4 years, I will look at the GS one.

Yeah Honda ones are guaranteed for 1 year and last about 1 year and 2 or 4 weeks from experience having have had new Honda cars. ???? ????

Any 12v 40a or higher battery should do it. The biggest question is the dimensions. 2000 sounds pretty high to me. 1500 should be plenty.

GS is a good brand. I usually get about 3 years out of a regular battery here. I try to change them before it leaves me stranded somewhere.

Same with me, although I haven't taken much notice of the batteries that have been put in my Suzuki Swift, but so far each one has lasted five years, at a cost of about 2800 baht.

I think that's a good life for a battery out here, and I got it from BQik, and asked them to do a test on it before removing it and replacing it. In that regard, the voltage dropped quite markedly when the car was started, but the car started and I reckon it would have lasted about another six months, but why take a chance?

Well when it comes to my experience with batteries in Thailand and in quite few motors with family etc over the years it's always been GS heavy duty and they have never let us down.

So I guess other people have experience the same with other battery makes but the GS has always been a reasonable price and when you find something good here I just stick with it.

I have found with motorcycle dirt cheap batteries which I have been experimenting with are different case and work well so far.

After fitting replacement batteries from many sources, including main dealers and big name  service companies, I've found GS batteries to be the best performers. They also tend to be the cheapest. With options that actually fit the vehicle and usually with higher 'crank amps'.

Perhaps some of that's because the turnover is greater, due to the pricing. So their batteries are 'newer'.

They come in some pretty awful colors though. Not the things to fit onto a classic.

5 years is good, we just get about 3 years in our swift. But when ti fails it fails; no real warning like a slow turnover of the engine. We have in a bosch at the moment. It must be getting close to 3 years now.

Just remembered that the batteries I have been using are "Yuasa" and as they are lasting 5 years+ at a time I'll stick with them!

I did use that once, but it made no difference to the battery life. Still about 3 years. But I recall it costing more than other brands I used.
