Farang bashing  at its finest.
Prisoners living 6 to a cell and the big factories housing illegal immigrant workers in windowless dorms 8 to a room are perfectly safe ? Just look at the statistics of where the big clusters are and stop being in denial.
I dread July 1st when the hordes of new farangs descend on Phuket as they inevitably will do when it re-opens. Pass the face masks and sanitiser !!!

Here we go, getting ready to blame dirty foreigners for the covid situation.

Hey what about the many Thais who are not following covid regulations?

Cannot speak about other areas but here, maybe 40 per cent of people going around not wearing masks.

sorry not going to happen, a few will arrive but most will go elsewhere. the cost to travel and hotels will go way up       wait and see??

If I read it right, this is just the written account of his previous meeting with consols and honorary consols.

If so, the only thing new learned is that his command of English is particularly poor.

I have to stop reading these posts. The stupidity will NEVER stop on their side so I need to stop reading to stop making me more angrier than I already am.

There are hardly any foreigners on the island , I wonder why the insistence on making out as if it is foreigners who are spreading the virus

Simple supply and demand . When something like 80% of the hotels have closed down , prices have to go up. Days of 500 baht rooms are over once tourist return.

Last January, Canada instituted a requirement for arrivals to have to produce a "negative covid-19" test upon arriving.

Within days, they were arresting people who arrived with forged/fake documents. And those were just the ones they caught.

(Never mind the 10s of thousands they allowed to arrive without any testing at all if they came from countries that didn't have the ability to do the tests. How's that for Liberal logic ? If you come from England, Germany, Norway, France (for example) you have to have a negative test result or be denied entrance.
If you come from Haiti, Nigeria, Lebanon, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh (for example) then you don't need a test result.

(This was highlighted in the press a few months ago after a third aircraft from Haiti arrived with so many infected people that the Health authorities declared everyone on the flight (passengers and crew) to be infected.)

(Not to mention that a large number of people who were supposed to go to a "quarantine hotel" simply didn't bother going at all !)

Letter sounds rather threatening to be honest.

gangsters run phuket so one can hardly be surprised at the aggressive tone of the writer.

So was it farangs who organised the 3 large parties , helped the pretties cross the border after being away working at parties or that owns the large venues packed with people that have resulted in the latest outbreak ? ????

Nah, no need.

Just business as usual, while ignoring nonsense and comments not supported by facts, and things that are outright, Hum, I need some time here, have to think of a nice way to say it....????????

"sorrowfulness of the province". Pathetic. This paper created a sorrowfulness up my a55!

Is this even the responsibility of a consulate or embassy?

I thought the only time they would reach out to me is to evac me during a war.

I hope all consuls give him a suitable reply.

Thank God he wrote that letter. We can all rest easy now that the covid situation has been addressed. For a moment I thought the problem was they hadn't ordered enough vaccines nor had a plan to inoculate people with the feeble amount they already have.

Wow, the province is sorrowful because foreigners have covid and are suspected of spreading it....interesting. Are they crying, are the monks chanting to make Covid stay away, or will the warm sunshine, and making all who stay in Phuket eat spicy Som Tam keep Covid away....enquiring minds want to know.

What does he attempt to say here?

I doubt my Consulate talks or has meetings with Criminals.

Sorrowfulness of the province.

This guy needs a really good shake.

Fair play one thing i have learnt here is that Thailand is the hub of many things.

They are the best at passing blame hands down its as though they can't ever say their own people could cause anything.

Even the Reporter said the poor American guy who got hit head on by a Thai yes Thai person trying to overtake a truck on the wrong side of the road in a shi7box underpowered Mitsu 6 up was said to have been riding very fast.

So what if he was going 80-100 he didnt expect some twa7 coming at him on the wrong side of the road.

Forking idiots here probably the driver will only get a fine.

Mind you the test here isnt hard i reckon my pet Dachshund Colin could get through it after a couple of attempts.

People........just let it go over your head.......much less stressfull.

I think we all know that tourists are not going to come from overseas, not for a very long time, and I doubt they will come in the numbers as before.

the world has changed big time

You need to open the link to get the full letter.

"Many cases of COVID-19 infections have derived from any party organizing, thus, Phuket province seeks cooperation from General Consuls and Honorary consuls in Phuket to monitor and inform or advice your own citizens avoiding to gather in large group to hold or involve in any types of parties which violate the Order of Phuket Province. Any persons who violate or fail to comply with Phuket regulations will be fined or receive a jail sentence, or both."

I'm a little confused - who organised and ran those big parties that started the third wave, foreigners or Thais? Have those people been prosecuted?

Thank God this intelligent and logical man has written to the various Foreign Embassy's and Consulates. As we all know the current COVID outbreak is all because of us foreigners trying to live (and spend money) in Phuket.

It was us foreigners who allowed the following to happen and we all should be ashamed of ourselves:

1. Allowing Songkran to go ahead.

2.Allowing illegal border crossings.

3.Allowing for continued uncontrolled PPE measures within the Thai penal system.

4.Allowing high society Thai's to hold mass gathering parties without adhering to COVID safe measures.

5.Allowing the <deleted> poor vaccination program to continue with substandard vaccines and ensuring foreigners are way down the back of the queue.

6.Allowing Phuket to "open up" in 4 weeks time without ensuring the local population is protected prior to this occuring.

The list can go on and on on how bad us foreigners are but I have a headache now!
