Featured Replies

"commits to" ? So what was in all those trucks seen rolling out of the production facility? Or was that just another PR exercise?

AstraZeneca commits to 1.8 million Thai vaccine doses amid supply anxiety

that's a drop on the ocean..... Thai government said they would be vaccinating 500,000 people daily, this quantity barely over 3 days of vaccination  555

P.S... sarcasm intended

1.8 million, about 5 days supply at the rate Thailand needs to vaccinate at to reach the end of year target set by the PM.

Exactly, crates could have been empty, training the the workers day?

ealth Minister Anutin Charvirakul said earlier Wednesday that 1.1 million AstraZeneca and Sinovac jabs had been deployed to provinces as of Tuesday

Which means that 700,000 went somewhere else.
Where to Mr Tegue?

I feel like I'm the mark/rube in the game of three-card monty.

And anutin is the dealer.

I simply don't udenrstand why they can't create a cartoon which shows the different buckets o' vac, where the came from and where they're going.

Is there really anything in those trucks?

Feels like some sort of heist movie.

Why do you think that any of that amount mentioned by Anutin came from the AZ facility in thailand. Especially considering that the mentioned Sinovac as part of that total..

Read the first 3 sentences of the article carefully.

The first 1.8 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine made in Thailand are “ready to be gradually rolled out,” AstraZeneca said in a statement Wednesday.

“Now that we are ready to deliver high-quality vaccine produced locally, we can help the Thai government achieve its goal,” said James Teague, country president of AstraZeneca Thailand.

Health Minister Anutin Charvirakul said earlier Wednesday that 1.1 million AstraZeneca and Sinovac jabs had been deployed to provinces as of Tuesday, as preparation for the nationwide roll-out for people aged between 18 and 59 that is scheduled for June 7.

Read the statement from Bob the Builder and you cleatly see that the supply situation is not based on locally produced doses but on a grab bag of supplies picked up on an ad hoc basis. There is little doubt that the situation will be unstable and this will have repercussions.

AstraZeneca: First Thai-made vaccines “ready”

And why is 'ready' in quotes?

It was a rhetorical question.

'Ready' means whatever the editor thinks it does, pretty sure they (editor) were commenting on the opaqueness of this AZ soft-launch.

1.1 million vaccine divided nationwide.. hmmmm

"..its sole owner..."

Wouldn't it follow then that SB is a nonprofit organization?

Excellent news, so there is only another 65 million (times two as it takes two jabs I hear), i.e. 130 million to be delivered - well done; keep up the good work!

some like it shortened to SIAM BS

This is going to be an absolute shambles. It's just as well Covid isn't that bad here or you could only imagine the carnage.

I hope that they have lots of standby generators to keep the freezers working.  I can't rely on my fridge staying cold with the regular power cuts.

What ever happened to the vaccine being developed in Thailand?  Last I remember reading it was being testing on monkeys.

Guess the Brits and Thailand can't make enough of the vacccine so USA has to lend them one of our plants to help them out.

Yes, it is a much bigger issue than everyone thought a year or so ago... go figure.

(Isn't USA manufacturing all done in China?)

Thais sell cheap AZ to Philippines and buy expensive Sinovac and Sinopharm. Looks like Thailand respects Sinovac much more than AstraZeneca.

By the looks of that forklift truck driver its highly unlikely anyone will be getting a vaccine.

They probably still sweeping up that load from the floor.

No sweat. According to the labels that crate is full of wine glasses and umbrellas.
