Thai Rath reported that 20 people in motorcycle taxi jackets turned up hoping to be vaccinated for Covid-19 on Sunday.

It happened at the mass vaccination center being run at the Grand Central Bang Sue station in northern Bangkok.

"Win" - as they are known in Thai - riders were eligible to be jabbed as public sector transport workers but these 20 had not registered for a jab and no record could be found of them on Department of Land Transport lists.

And none had the required licence enabling them to offer public transport services.

This news soon reached the ears of transport minister Saksayam Chidchob who order DLT chief Jirut Wisanjit to instigate an immediate inquiry that is now underway.

Jirut said that any people found to have broken the law will be prosecuted.

Motorcycle riders, said the media, can inform their head of rank of their intention to be vaccinated or go through other means such as visiting the DLT website or district offices.

Walk-ins were allowed but these were not to be found on official lists of registered riders.

These riders were either complete fakes or unregistered riders without licences, it appears.

I went with my gf to Bang Sue on Tuesday (after striking out at Bumrungrad on Monday) just for the hell of it and to see if I could find something out. The woman behind a computer looked at my pink card and looked at her screen and tho I'm in a couple of government apps, said my number was not in the system and it didn't matter anyway because I'm a foreigner. I keep getting the feeling that this country really doesn't want me here.

Well if they investigating why they dress as motorsai drivers why stop there ? why not investigate why men dress as women, women dress as men and Thai government ministers dress as human beings ?????????????

This just demonstrates how desperate people are to be vaccinated and how pathetic the vaccine rollout has been so far.

Heads should roll within the powers that be, but of course they are all too busy giving themselves a pat on the back to notice what a mess the vaccination drive has been so far.

Just name and shame them. But that may be impossible if they have any status or connections.

Interesting that their images are blurred, even though they are wearing masks and are in a public place.

The "public place" point is strictly a Western convention, where ordinary persons are not allowed the expectation of privacy in public. Very different here.

Honestly, this is a really <deleted>ty selfish thing to do.

Land of scams and corruption... anyone surprised?

This and an earlier on earlier post about vips jumping queues goes back to feudal ages'.

The sooner modern day Thais reject it it won't change.

I'm only 87. Perhaps I can dress as an old man and get a vaccination a bit sharpish.????

It would be if vaccinations were being delivered on the basis of vulnereability.  They are not.  My partner, who is in his 40s and has no underlying medical condition, was vaccinated earlier this week.  Meanwhile elderly and sick people are not able to get vaccinated.  Really, it's every man/woman/katoey for himself given the hopelessly incompetent vaccine rollout here.

Its so true.  Constantly saying everything is going to plan.  It's such a freaking fiasco.

All this panic for a virus that has killed 0.62% of people, predominately older people or those with underlying conditions.

Perhaps people should take a chill pill like I have and remember there are more people coming out of hospital recovered, than those in body bags, a recovery rate of around 99.38%.

Everyone has been brainwashed into fear for an invisible disease that kills less people than cars do in Thailand.

Get a grip people, Thailand will reach herd immunity soon enough with all these vaccines arriving, and you will all survive.

Peace out ????

And so It begins

May the odds always be in your favor

Government vaccination website is effectively broken and has been since it's been rolled out. Or it's functionality is far beyond my comprehension.

Maybe it's just Thai logic

@4MyEgo

Take it easy mate, speaking like that is heresy & you'll get burned at the stake or worse.????

You have to be afraid, that's part of the plan, so that the pharmaceutical companies rake it in.

I don't know about the above, but pulling medicines off of the shelves that have been around for years treating similar disease and releasing vaccines under a large trial where people are dying, (not vaccine related of course) they keep telling us and those with the blinkers on keep agreeing, just doesn't add up.

Call it what you will, but how many people died under treatments of these medicines, which larger studies now agree and funded by others as big pharma didn't want to fund them because obviously it wasn't as profitable as the lucrative experimental vaccines is beyond me.

But we sit, watch, listen as opposed to run with arm out of fear of dying without this miracle cure against the virus, well not me, I will wait for more evidence and keep the other options in mind from the recent studies, until all the data is in and or a vaccine without death as after vaccine event is out of the equation.

Either of which it is manifestly easy to be in this blighted realm.

I think it is quite clever and shows initiative.

I might have better luck if I wear my forty year old suit which I drag out for weddings and funerals. I haven't packed it away too carefully this time as the time is approaching when my wife may have to get it out to make me look presentable for my farewell performance. Not for a while I hope,????????
