I booked Moderna with THG but they have questionnaire asking if you have had a government shot now.  If you say yes, they say you shouldn't book this vaccine because you need to wait 6 months after the 2nd government shot. So it would have been better not to tell them but too late.

Assuming this is true, I have my doubts, then it would be Thais (100%) who are at risk and otherwise unable to secure a vaccine.

I thought they said like two or three weeks ago it was for both injections it was gonna be 3400 the price keeps going up but yet there’s no vaccines to be gotten what the hell is this government doing TIT

Wont be long before they start saying that they cannot do the 2nd jab when required and the vaccine you had be useless and you have to start all over again

What a bunch of incompetent rulers has Thailand. Only to fill their pockets they delay every other vaccine. Sinopharm is approved and will available in August.. Moderna , they told many times they ordered, but apparently they did not.. Same with Pfizer .. Philippines can get it in 8 weeks , Thailand at the end of this year, maybe.... and Sputnik V no information available, because of lack of some papers... They have to be removed from office as soon as possible. It is their duty to take for the health of theis people instead of filling their own pockets

That is exactly what is about to happen.

With talk of a third jab possibly being needed for certain vaccines it's not looking good.

Well, I got my first shot of Sinovac on 8 June and go back for the second on 29 June. I did so with the intent of following up with Moderna when it was available in November or December. To my mind, Sinovac was better than nothing and almost the equal of AZ. With this catastrophic news about the reduction of the number of Moderna doses, I am becoming more and more thankful I was able to get the Sinovac. It looks like this is all we're going to be able to get, Sinovac and a slightly better AZ. The remnants of Moderna will be snapped up by hiso's and the elite and businesses. Probably the only alternative will be Sinopharm. It's the only other vaccine that has actually made it into Thailand and is ready for use. Better start being thankful you can get anything at all. Personally, these days, I'm feeling much better about what the Chinese government has done to get me vaccinated in Thailand than the US government's efforts.

You have to wonder what happened to the other 5m doses. Were they ever coming? Are they being withheld for certain individuals? Have they been on-sold? Normally such questions wouldn't enter my mind, but this has been a massive cluster <deleted> from start to finish.

It was obvious right from the start that all the talk about Moderna, Pfizer, J&J et al was nothing more than talk by the leaders of the Thai Tatmadaw. A cynical attempt to deflect rising criticism in the hope that they could cobble together some purchases in due course. The silence of the vaccine producers was deafening, they knew that there would be no deliveries because they have already sold all their production to other countries. So now the smokescreen is clearing for everyone to see that once again this junta has been lying to the nation.

Normally you can pay the Thai Red Cross to vaccinate you, not sure for COVID-19 though.

 

I have been there for my yellow fever and flu shots before going to work in deepest, darkest Africa. 

 

They are much cheaper for those shots than any private hospitals.

 

Again, not sure about COVID-19 vaccinations.

my experience has been that i have been promised certain things here have a habit of disappearing out the back door.

Why don't they just order the J&J vaccine as everyone can be covered well with just one jab. It's the two jab vaccines that throws them off course, they run out of fingers to count.

Obviously the UK is not a normal country,  the test and trace system is a £37 billion failure and the inevitable dismissals are notable by their absence.

Your so called "vaccine fiasco" pales into insignificance compared to the covid "highlights" in some other countries.
