Is the lovely mod team the same?

Thankfully the adorable Crossy is still here, but perhaps they've been slimmed down. ????

So HK immigration need to be on the lookout for "misterjames" or "crossy"?

Seriously, AseanNow is an anonymous forum we don't know who you are, we could be compelled to release your IP address but there's really nothing else we hold.

Well usernames along with our account data / posts could be linked to an individual via Chinese immigration for example.

I am not planning to visit Hong Kong or China, but I think the users that are should be aware and decide if they want to continue to participate or not.

All the country links across the top don't work, but I understand that it's a work in progress.

However, since all ASEAN countries are shown at the top with equal status, they should also appear on the webpage content/posts with equal status.  I see no forum for my own abode - Laos.

Is there no news about Laos?  Can I start some? ????

I've asked the question, but I'm not holding my breath for a response from "above-stairs".

Thank you for asking, much appreciated.

Definitely a WIP.

For now Laos stuff can go in the South East Asia forum like before https://aseannow.com/forum/123-southeast-asia-forum/

Awe King for life Xi of China must be the new driver of the ship, and this is just the start of his steel curtain movements.  Kind of fancy logo though.  Since I had to re-log in I wonder how the security is for the server, I do see the lock at the top next to the URL.  I do wonder where the servers are kept and operated from.

Font looks too small and light and amateurish logo, but at least the over bloated golf section got condensed

When I set the font-size to 18px, the font-weight to 500, and the color to #282828, it is a much more comfortable presentation.

Same here. VERY difficult to read.

Soon the Chinese will change that to "888" considered luckier

Can’t open the new site correctly anymore?
Get the strange basic layout which doesn’t make sense.

I found it easier to read by changing theme bottom of screen next to Contact Us from theme AN-20210521 to Theme Copy of TV 20210323-4-5

So TV is now owned by a company based in Hong Kong, where the CCP has just recently closed the last "democratic" newspaper (and thus has pretty much total control of all the media in HK).

A little bit of digging and it seems the boss of TV is now working for Tessanet Limited. Great website (http://www.tessanet.com/) - inspires confidence ! And according to one site, TV is that company's most active website.
Tessanet was established in 2012 and it's office(s) are in Kowloon.

I guess we'll have to be really careful about criticizing anything China does in the future. I mean, it's not like the CCP would have people (or automated systems) monitoring posts or anything. Or censoring anything. Or using their contacts in the Thai (or other gov'ts) to try and identify anyone that criticizes them.

But one thing is for sure - I won't be going to any site that has teak doors anytime soon. I remember when that place opened and was (mostly) populated by miscreants who'd been (permanently) banned from TV for various reasons and their main purpose was to slag TV (and it's members).
(Some of them would even create accounts using user names of people they didn't like on TV and then post **** pretending to be them. I've never been to the site but apparently someone created an account using my TV username and was posting <deleted>. I only found out when George told me about it during a phone call.)

But there doesn't seem to be any decent alternatives to TV (that I'm aware of).

Canada by the looks of it.

If so, expect this is on the way -

So this is why they nearly lost the ThaiVisa domain ,to create a new website

new name, will it be a bigger success ,I don't know ,but they should realise

there are a lot of older people that are members and we don't like change.
