Thai politicians have received the biggest slap in the face yet if the latest Super Poll is to be believed.

A staggering 98.5% said that MPs and all other politicians should take a pay cut.

97.3% weighed in by suggesting that politicians are taking advantage of the pandemic and making money for themselves.

96.6% said they were only sowing the seeds of hatred in society and had done nothing to alleviate the crisis.

Meanwhile Prayut Chan-ocha and his cabinet ministers have been saying what a wonderful job they are doing. This is clearly not washing with the vast majority of Thais who beg to differ.

In response to other quests 63.1% thought only places where there are Covid outbreaks should be shut but 32.6% wanted Bangkok and surrounding areas locked down.

3.2% wanted a return to the policy that existed before construction camps were ordered shut.

Nine out of ten people expressed the need to support food delivery riders like Grab, Lineman, Food Panda and Kerry.

As regards opening the country 91.5% thought it appropriate to only close areas where infection is rife.

The poll asked 1,068 respondents question from last Thursday to Sunday, reported Naew Na today.

Stupid people.

You're there to eat sh!t and die.

Not dictate what dictators get to trouser.

Capiche?

It's not the pay people, it's the kickbacks or the royalties as I used to call it back in the day, those kickbacks or royalties pay them more than their pays, trust me, think about that for a minute.

Do they really think that a cut in a Thai politician's salary would make one jot of difference to these people that make millions though graft and corruption? Laughable.

We have a great contender, and probable winner of "The most delusional statement of the year" !

Their salaries are a drop in the ocean..........they would all do this job for 'free' or even pay the State to do it, knowing all the kickbacks coming their way.

I think that's the only reason most of them are there , to enrich themselves,

by anyway they can ,and they find a lot of opportunities.

How can I possibly believe these super figures? I mean, some of the super responses are less than 90%.

That's not so super.

A pay cut from what, no-one knows what they get paid as a salary... or what bonuses are given the higher up the ladder you get.

Pay cuts would really hurt Thai politicians, particularly cabinet ministers, because it is well known they are scurpulously honest and are totally reliant on their salaries alone.

As if their salary was anything more than a sliver of their "income".

As if our politicians were reliant on the few measly baht in official salaries they receive. To them it's mere pocket change compared to all these "other" income sources they so skillfully exploit.

It's not just their pay that needs cutting.

Bring in performance related pay and the Muppets will receive nothing, which is what they are doing, nothing.

Except of course fining people for posting pictures on social media, no priorities whatsoever.

Isn't there a difference between politicians and soldiers? Is the unelected PM "there will be no coup" a politician??

It's hard to rule a country on a steady diet of Mama noodles.

Assets used to be published.  Unusually rich politicians came under scrutiny.  Prawit banked 5 million baht per YEAR for FIVE years on a salary of less than ONE million.
