Beside curfews and lockdowns, the 27th regulation under the Emergency Decree also imposes a 2-year jail sentence and/or a fine of up to 40,000 baht for anyone who spreads information or news that causes public fear or affects national security.

^^^^

We had such clauses targeting “information that causes public fear and affects natl security before” - but to put that back in and making truth secondary just suggests the govt is losing control over its narrative in this #COVID19 pandemic.

This lines with estimates from other countries that asymptomatic's account for only around 25% of positive cases

Less asymptomatic than I thought was the case. A good reason for not catching Covid.

the asymptomatic should increase over time, as vaccines get rolled out. Still have cases, but less symptomatic….I hope.

Pray this doesn't happen in this country.

The staggering number of #COVID19 deaths among health workers in Indonesia over the past week should give everyone reason to pause. Frontline health workers deserve better than this. Health systems and priorities need a fix #Indonesia

Covid-19 deaths in Indonesia (fixed typo): @LaporCovid: 85 health workers died (1-9 July) @PBIDI: 35 doctors died (1-9 July), 7x number in May @PPIBI: 39 midwives died (in first week of July)

Thai FDA expected to approve locally-made Favipiravir antiviral drug this month

Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) is expected to approve the registration of locally-produced Favipiravir antiviral medication this month, to be used in the treatment of COVID-19 patients, according to Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek today (Tuesday).

Research and development of local raw materials, to produce precursor ingredients needed to make Favipiravir, jointly undertaken by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) and PTT Public Company, have been progressing well, Dr. Rachada said.

The cooperation also covers laboratory scale trials, technology transfer up to industrial production level and feasibility studies of commercial development of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), she said, adding that this is a model of cooperation between the private and public sectors in the development of Thailand’s pharmaceutical industry.

Very concerning, they are also using Sinovac as the main vaccine although they are getting some supplies of other brands in limited quantities

The majority would be sent home and have been for some time. Possibly given option of field hospital with subtle reference to home isolation better option.

Stop spoiling his narrative. He’s having fun. That one stat makes everyday Christmas for him 5555

Of course it is.  Failure to the Nth degree.

Can you buy Nth degrees in Kaosan Rd?I've heard they sell all sorts of degrees there.Won't be long before we see stories of health system collapse in the world media like we did with India and now Indo.A few images of oxygen bottles people struggling to breathe in hospital a few crematorium images a some ambulances in queues should quell Anutin's claims of control and Prayuth's callous "risks need to be taken" remarks into their proper perspective.

Or "What will be will be". Gotta love the irony of the situation.  I think Karma could do a little better though.

What sensible person would pay for a vaccine at Bang Sue knowing that it would be free and would probably involve a wait on the day......I'll say no more.

The Department of Medical Services is warning people to look out for scammers who claim they can get them a Covid-19 jab at the Bang Sue Grand Station for a fee

Vaccinations are being provided at the Bang Sue Grand Station for people aged 60 and above, and it’s completely free of charge,” the department said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
