Kapook reported on a post on Facebook of a firm of private investigators called TBLS. 

 

The story concerned a late thirties female teacher called Pattama who contacted the agency after losing everything she had to what she thought was a well off foreigner who was going to marry her and have kids with her.

 

Pattama was a divorcee with a child and was looking for a fresh start. She was quite well off and worked as an English teacher at a Thai school.

 

Instead of fulfilling her dreams, she not only lost her savings but ended up being named in a summons from the Chiang Rai police in a fraud case in which a monk received a couple of boxes of masks rather than a phone.

 

"Jim" from Singapore was behind all this misery.

 

Pattama met him on Tinder and was impressed by his profile with the luxury car and wealthy lifestyle.

 

But despite the trappings of wealth Jim was lonely and wanted a Thai wife, someone to bear his children and go into business with in Thailand.

 

For, as he pointed out, that is tricky for a foreigner without a wife. 

 

She was hooked - line and sinker - by the sweet talking Jim and agreed to a first date when he turned up in a nice car and had 200,000 baht cash on him. 

 

He splashed this around as if there was no tomorrow.

 

Her eyes were opened too late. She lost everything then all contact with the "Singaporean" ended.

 

She went to the PI when the summons arrived and asked them to investigate about another woman. 

 

It emerged that Jim had conned at least five other women in the age range 35-40. They all had quite a bit of money and status. 

 

They were all contacted on Tinder, all soon chatted with Jim on Line then agreed to dates. 

 

But with the work of the PI's Jim was soon uncovered by Thai immigration who discovered he was in actual fact a Malaysian called Tan Bun Hok who had entered Thailand via Sadao and was on a two year overstay. 

 

The PI firm got a wife of an investigator to pose as a woman looking for love on Tinder. 

 

She said she was seeking a well off Asian man who could speak English and help her with that language and Jim soon came along. 

 

It was the same picture as supplied by Pattama. 

 

Within an hour they were chatting on Line and after three hours chat they had arranged to meet in person. 

 

He didn't have a car by this time (it had been seized by police in Mahasarakham) and he was delighted that the latest woman would be arriving in her own to pick him up. 

 

Immigration beat the PI to the meeting site in Khon Kaen and made the arrest.

It was, he conned her first before she could con him, 

The bait is always greed , the woman would not have

looked at him twice ,if he was just an ordinary ,honest

I found a few things humorous in this news article.

 

1) Tinder date

2) Thai teaching English

3) The PI firm uploading false information into a computer system and getting a wife of an investigator to pose as a woman looking for love on Tinder

Where would we be without fraud, theft, and lies?

Well, you would not be able to form a government,

Most commercial activity would collapse.

and you might not even be born.

I wonder what its like not to be born.

So how did he actually con them ? Seems the women’s greed cost them and they want refunded . Plenty of guys been conned by Thai women but they don’t seem to get refunded !! ????

It always confuses me when Thai women who are absolutely obsessed with material wealth complain about men treating them badly.  Not that what happened in this case is at all justified, but more generally speaking, what do they expect?

This world has crime going on in some form on every corner all the time. Beware.

Clearly, the game works both ways.  I would wager that males are most often the victims here, as our little heads often take over and do all the thinking.

He might have been lucky to be 'enshared by the PI'.  You con 5 women of status, who then lost face.... you might have that one hire a PI, but another pay a bit less and have him assassinated.  ????

How that doesn't send up immediate red flag is beyond me.  Although PT Barnum had a quote about that.  At the end of the day, greed begets misery. 

If the PI's are working for a woman with no money, I wonder what they get out of it after immigration swooped their target.

So why get the wife of an investigator to chat with him online?
