Chinese Embassy Bangkok: Sinovac it is NOT a low quality vaccine

Daily News reported that the Chinese embassy in Thailand is furious that some people in the country are denigrating their Sinovac vaccine, belittling the Chinese efforts to help the country and ignoring scientific facts.

A Facebook announcement from the embassy came after comments made by opposition parties about the vaccine in the no confidence debate against the government in parliament.

They pointed out they were the first country to come to Thailand's assistance in the vaccine fight against Covid-19.

Every single dose of Sinovac was an example of the friendship, solidarity and help that the Chinese people have for Thailand.

Their vaccine is approved by WHO and has passed human trials according to strict Thai FDA guidelines.

Sinovac is safe, efficacious and they guarantee its quality.

They added that the Chinese authorities are following the latest variant news closely and pointed to a favorable study conducted in Chile last month.

They said that some people and some organisations in Thailand were denigrating Sinovac without any good reason.

This did not correlate to the scientific data and was disrespectful to Chinese efforts to help Thailand, they said.

They promised their continued support for the country.

Yes it is low quality,  thats why the world, CDC, WHO, FDA and other agencies  and countries do not use it or buy it or recommend  it, because  its low quality.   So much Chinese  goods are made without quality in mind.  Most are made to get the money then not care how long the product last.  If its not low quality  then why is the whole world treating it as such?

They are not used to dealing with a population that is (still) allowed to think for itself, hence the lack of nuanced PR

As usual people see the world in black & white terms. But reality is more complex.

Sinovac was around 50%+ effective against the first round of CV. Less so now against Delta. Sinopharm seems a bit better, but not much.

Much the same can be said for AZ & the Pfizer/Moderna efforts, except that they were & remain at higher levels of effectiveness (75%-95% depending which day of the week it is).

So for real-world people in real-world complicated circumstances: 50% or even less is better than nothing. And 75-95% is much better, but nothing's perfect.

Thanks perfesser, not condescending at all. ????

It is black and white: The thai regime feels the need to administer boosters to all with sinovac 2X, and the regime will stop using sinovac as of November.

And when you're trying to convince a population that vaccinations are safe and effective, there are only two outcomes. So not complex at all.

Hey China! You might be able to suppress, oppress, and repress your own people within your own borders. But, the outside world knows you are full of nonsense, and truth is the least important thing in the world, to your heinous CCP. So, continue the stupidity at your own peril. Just more monkey business from the folks who have a #1 priority of taking over the world.

We do not buy your BS. None of it. Sinovac has been proven to be at the bottom of the list of vaccine efficacy rates, worldwide. No matter how much you insist to the contrary, nothing changes.

Nor in Euro or Aust where some research into the efficacy  has been done

I'm sure it isn't low quality, but mRNA vaccines are just much better...

In Singapore, there are many folks choosing Sinovac because they're scared of mRNA vaccines, but they get very low protection with Delta variants and lower protection overall.

Maybe China should ask why Chula is working on an mRNA vaccine instead of going for a cheaper and easier Sinovac style solution...

The very last people that should be singing the the praises of Sinovac, are the Chinese.

Now, if the praises were sung by all and sundry around the World as being the best thing on Toast, then it would carry some credibility.

Hmmm... All that "complexity" and the contents of your comment clearly still shows that sinovac is a low quality vaccine, both independently and relatively.

Nobody wants this vaccine. It is poor quality and provides next to no protection against Delta.

If the Chinese say it is not a poor quality vaccine, I believe them.  It seems we have a high quality vaccine that doesn't work well against covid delta.

Popular rhetoric does little good - and can lead to fatal decisions.

Begging the question - "what do the professors of Virology have to say?"

They are gutted they are losing the vaccine diplomacy war with the US and UK stepping in with better quality vaccines.

Yes, social media and ill informed posters have a lot to answer for.

Sinovac is a useful vaccine- because of its mild side effects it may even be better in some circumstances.  Certainly, it could be argued that it is the best option for youngsters, since they don't really need a strong vaccine like Pfizer or AZ.

So far none of the vaccines in use have been approved for "youngsters" . Some jurisdictions are looking at some groups in the 12-15 year age group, hardly "youngsters"

Well, as a magic bullet sort of person you would say that.  Each vaccine has its pros and cons.  Recently we've discovered Pfizer has some marked safety issues, and efficacy issues too, haven't we?  And contrariwise, AZ seems to have come up the charts.

No 'good one' no 'bad one'.

Perhaps I should have qualified that- by youngsters I meant 18-40 year olds.

Kids shouldn't be anywhere near these vaccines imo.

You are a bit pedantic imo.

It is a very low virus.  Just like the Chines are.  They gave the world a virus that will kill everyone and they are given it out to everyone.  It does not work .
