Madam dealt with the entire process so I really don't know what it entailed or even the value of the "donation", sorry. It would be rude to ask her.

As other more informed posters have already clearly stated, it seems that existing rules do not allow one to enter this type of program by which one can contribute to Physiology learning at med schools here, if one is not Thai. 

 

Why this is so, has not been explained here. 

 

If you might wish to pursue this admirable personal choice further, then... 

 

Call Tamassat, Chula, CMU and inquire. 

 

Certainly, you would be helping students, if you can find the way. 

 

Maybe you might check organ donation, depending upon your age. 

 

Call Chula in Bangkok. 

 

The telephone operators at Chula speak English. And, they are smart.

If you are recyclable at all they will find a way. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that the next time you are seen in public it will be in a cozy bun bed with a  portion of fries.

I posted here about 2 years ago asking how to arrange that, but not much guidance resulted from my post.

 

In the US my Driver's License shows me as an Organ Donor, and if I was living there I would arrange something with a Medical School.

 

Once there is some sort of new normal and I can see the Visa situations in a few SEA countries and decide which one I will predominately reside in, I will look into arranging both of these wishes.

 

Here's one way to be an organ donor:

 

On the Howard Stern show during one of their roasts, Sal the Stockbroker was speaking of Baba Booey:

"When Gary's father died his father donated his organs.

Not the ones in his body. The ones he would grind while Gary danced in the street".

Think it is more important, to make sure adequate funds are available for your loved one,  to use when the time comes.

Hospital bills, transportation costs, police,  probate, ect.

Many things can go wrong with your perfect plans.

We don't get to book a time, place or situation for our demise.

Don't be a dead beat Falang after your death, 

get the dosh sorted out for it all, before you go.

( but not to much ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.

Local temple for me,  no party,  keep the dosh for herself.

That's a bit extreme.

Cremation - that would be mainstream.
Decomposition as fertiliser - a bit more radically green, reduce, reuse, recycle.

I am not sure I would want to live in that community.
I am not sure I would want to hitch-hike through it...
 

My remains will travel to the local wat for BBQing on the back of a rusty old pick up. (they use the same one every time, rich or poor it makes no difference)

 

There will be 2 pieces of titanium in there as well from an old fracture. I'm not sure what the melting point is though.

 

The village communal insurance will pay for it, so at least my wife won't out-of-pocket when I finally fade away. If they want to have a party, that's up to them.

A business on the edge of town agreed to dispose of my remains for free. I can't remember the name of the company, Soylent Green or something like that.

Generally, disposing of other people’s bodies is more troublesome than your own.
