Why is it always "Thai people" Why not Thai's? i'm british and we say Brits, never add the people at the end as we already know what we are ????,   Always hate hearing Thai people, Thai people, Thai people.......Worst is when they say "We Thai people"............. irritating, Makes them sound stupid...............

Oh sorry the news....Well stay shut then i don't care.....................???? I'm looking forward to 6 month in Tbilisi Georgia from Nov, with 0 anything to get in there with NO!! restrictions and you get one year visa plus way cheaper than silly over priced Thailand.

Separating themselves from Thai dogs, Thai cats and all other Thai non-humans.

Bet they didn't survey the people who work in the travel industry or the entertainment business, or girls who work in bars etc...

  • What a coincidence. Over 60% of potential tourists say it is still too difficult to come to Thailand as well.

Don't really think they have anything to worry about with the just as daft apparently 'Health pass' requirements. Nobody is coming in mass to make any difference to them.

More daily smoke and mirrors to support the PM puppet that he is doing a great job!  He doesn't plan to leave the benefits are just out of this world!????

The poll is misleading. The poll ran for 4 days, 1392 people responded. There are around 69,983,000 people living in Thailand.

actually, he wants to open.

First suppose to be 100 days after phuket sandbox.

Now delayed for 2 weeks.

With lower infection rate and with more people getting jab, it's now or the next year high season and 12 months wasted

New cases are not coming down enough, and the Thai population is under vaccinated. Or course they are fearful. Wait to open boarders 1 December.

Maybe time to get a bunch of T-shirts made up that say "I am vaccinated" in both Thai and English

Despite fears, the incoming foreigners are NOT the COVID threat.  most will be vaccinated, all will have tested negative prior to getting on the airplane to Thailand and then gone through local quarantine if they came in as unvaccinated and in sandboxes.  The millions of Thais that are non vaccinated are the risk.  But xenophobes and other types will often look negatively at others.

Remember, many officials have stated that all these plans are conditional on areas achieving a 70 % vaccination rate.  How strongly that will be enforced is to be determined.  It is far from clear who will make the final call or decisions on all these proposed arrival schemes, or who might change or rescind them.

Hopefully not, I would like to think they can broaden their group selection. beyond a biased sub-sector. It does say 1,392 people from various groups across the country. Rather a small sample... but the result does not really surprise me.

No where in my post directly say he doesn't want to open!

It is consistent with their statement " slowly "  the problem is it is so slow the turtles are winning the race then it is so slow because they don't have a clue coming up with constant dream and unrealistic rules which doesn't change a thing as I noted just more smoke and mirrors to make it seem it has which it hasn't. Go to the Thai Embassy website the list is the same as before to obtain a C.O.E. they claim no quarantine so why the request for a ASQ reservation.  The more they think the more problems develop!  As I noted in another topic just keep it simple K.I.S.S.

My suggestion to the leaders keep your mouth shut until you idea is well thought out!  As my late mother use to say " Silence is Golden "

Any fully vaccinated person should be allowed in to the country.  If people do not trust the vaccines, but instead want to keep lockdowns, and shutdowns, etc. well.  it is their country.

Another questionable poll of little value except, except to the puppetmasters

Wouldn't expect the great masses at least until Songkran and if/when the kooky authorities come to their senses - by April/May the majority of the population will have satisfied the vaccine quota. Or not

By Songkran, they would be debating of booster shots and 2nd year shots etc

when tourism accounts for 20% plus of the countries GDP they are all reliant - they just don't have the brains to work it out

The talk has always been - 20% of the GDP comes from tourism.

Surely, they are now realising another 30% was dependent on the ripple effect of the first 20%.

The ship is almost sinking, by the time wisdom dawned

The Suan Dusit Poll, by Suan Dusit University, gauged the opinions of 1,392 people from various groups across the country between October 11th and 14th

I thought that with over 1,000 respondents in Thailand the correct term should be Super Poll.

So, just what are the tourist going to do when they get here? What will be open to them? Can they have a glass of wine with their meal? Staying in a hotel in their own country would be much cheaper.

lots of activities..

- Some starts even before arriving thailand

 # Obtain a Thailand pass or

 # stay in a expensive sandbox or

 # a surreal ASQ for the chosen ones..

- try making out with masks on

- drink alcohol from coffee mugs

- drink alcohol at tiny shops behind closed shutters

- end up buying drinks for all girls in the bar, as you are the only patron

- get caught and pay fines

-  FREE temperature check and alcohol washes, anywhere you go

- pay another 500 before being let out

The government stated they would not open up until 70% of the population were fully vaccinated they do even play by there own rules

Just find someone there with the balls to say yes we will take your money-but to be honest we dont want you here..

I'll probably get a negative response to this... But !  "to be honest we dont want you here.." Some of you must live in a different Thailand to me. I've been here permanently over 7 years now. Travelled extensively. Driven over 85,000 km. Lived in a few different places. Mostly up-country. I agree somewhat to your comment if in BKK or Pattaya, but once outside the tourist traps I've always been treated respectfully. I have all the usual dealings with immigration, banks, insurance companies & service providers. I've never encountered a negative vibe. I have excellent neighbours who often drop in to just say Hi & give me their home grown fruit & veggies. I'm wondering if maybe some members have an attitude issue ?

Let's get real, the Thai economy is in shreds, how long do they expect to wait to reopen?

Thailand started thier vaccine program much later than most, currently there are only 15 countries in the world who have achieved double vaccine status. Just check when these 15 commenced and you may get an idea of when Thailand could achieve thier target.

Double vaccine of 70% that is

I'd like to see the questions.  You can get whatever answer you want depending how you frame the question.

Why not?   This is part of the vaccination protocol for many Thai people (apologies to Henry123)

Sorry but the public’s opinion is ignorant when it comes to public health, safety, environment etc issues…

All individuals see is there little tree in front of them…
