When will nightlife in Pattaya open?

I doubt if it can get that busy.

For me I am not bothered I am happy with it being quiet and I was happy when it was busy.

I drink a lot less now and feel better for it, I think I will stay at this level.

Pffff implying you came here for something else. What remains after its “cleaned up”? A bunch of dilapidated shop houses, hole in the wall restaurants, and a crusty beach.

Oh boy.

I went for a ride down Walking Street yesterday. The whole street is completely shuttered. Very little will be coming back. They didn't take the down time as an opportunity to repave the road surface which is now a real big mess. The only reason I can think of is that they plan to demolish Walking Street... which would be a good idea.

They know the hordes of Chinese and Indians that walk up and down Walking Street will not be back anytime soon, so no hurry.

In the meantime with a bird's eye view. I  have noticed this young woman neighbor outside her place waiting and then escorting middle aged foreigners who arrive on motorbikes  into her building.

If they don't get any more major outbreaks they will open bars in Pattaya Dec 01.  I think there have already been comments from higher ups about that date being a possibility.  I personally don't really care either way and don't understand why so many people seem so obsessed about it.

Why is Covid not ripping through supermarkets local fresh markets etc, more people congregate in them than they do in bars.
I haven’t read anywhere a supermarket has closed because Covid ripped through it.

I'd say the format of the first Bangkok steps, alcohol only served in restaurants that are SHA approved until 9pm, doesn't exactly point towards going that far that quickly. Not sure about obsession, but when you live in a City that is hospitality and entertainment dependent and is economically on it's knees it's hardly surprising it's a hot topic. It must be  a bit like living in Vegas with Casinos closed.

Treetown is packed every night with hundreds of people, if want to know how effective the rules are take a look, start with social distancing and work from there, add a couple of thousand arrivals to Pattaya over the next couple of weeks - where exactly are they going to go ?

They need to lift the ban on restaurants at least to relieve the pressure and very obvious overcrowding

It is said that the BIB will not be upset if bar owners protest volubly outside this week's meeting.

They have a fair indication of how much covid is in the community by testing the sewage at the treatment plant.

That's hilarious.

What is, testing the sewage or that the Thais are actually testing the sewage?

If they did it certainly didn't have any effect.

The Bobby on the beat is struggling a bit and none too happy.

No, not interested.

That link was about testing the sewage in the UK for covid.  You need to educate yourself.
