Like many others here, just because I don't like these conditions. It's not a matter of hotel ASQ price. I just want to choose the place where I go, not being like in jail. If only people who agree with thai govt policy would have the right to post, you wouldn't have much to read

I posted a list of 95 hotels in Pattaya which includes one of the most popular and my personal favourite. If you can't find a hotel there to suit your taste and budget than you aren't trying or you have an agenda here.

Then you are completely unaffected by the SHA plus arrangements so what is your point?

I stand by my assertion that the overwhelming majority of people complaining about vaccines and trivial restrictions are politically motivated to do so. We do know that it isn't about science.

Perhaps I have family wanting to come and perhaps this is a discussion forum. So perhaps it does affect me a lot. Goodnight to you

The 4 million dead didn’t help. Plus, all those people with Long Covid.

And you must be pretty angry at those Covid patients who swamped hospitals.

All those restrictions you hate are due to them.

That means one night quarantine or more if you do no get the test result after one night. You have to book an hotel and cannot stay elsewhere. And bars still closed.

I'll wait till situation is back to normal : I will come to enjoy my stay, not to subsidize thai economy, even if I am more worried about thai economy than the junta istself.

My flight arrives at 00.05, ie after midnight. I wonder how that will impact my hotel.

I should imagine you would need to book for 2 nights.

Thai citizens are not subject to SHA restrictions.

You keep on making wildly false accusations and statements. Of course Thai's are subject to SHA restrictions if they travel via the new 1st Nov opening scheme. As for political agenda please show me some evidence of that you are just making yourself look foolish.

Good point.

No, not onerous at all compared to what has been on offer recently.

The type of people whinging about this inconvenience would be the same ones calling the government reckless not so long ago because they were opening up too early and not taking enough precautions.

Easiest thing in he world to just nit pick every detail and be an armchair critic. It’s a fine balance whatever they decide to keep everyone safe and get the economy going again. Not an easy task.

Can someone please help me clarify and confirm a few issues?

·         If I have been to a country (not on the list of 46) within the last 21 days I can still go to Bangkok and/or Pattaya after Nov 1 but I have to stay within that “zone” for at least 7 days.

·         I do not have to quarantine in my hotel for 7 days.  I can wonder around Bangkok after I get my first test results.

·         Can I stay 4 days in Bangkok and 3 days in Pattaya or do all 7 days have to be in the same location AND at the same hotel?

·         Ozimoron kindly provided a link to SHA+ hotels in Pattaya.  Does anyone have a similar list for Bangkok?

Thank you!

I don't know for sure but I think you need to stay in your room for 7 days if you are not from one of the 47 listed countries.

I'm on the same flight so I called a hotel in Pattaya.

The gentleman I spoke with said Covid tests taken before 6 PM will be completed by the next morning.

Assuming this is correct, a two night booking would be required.

Right. I think for many (maybe most), it will be a two-day quarantine.

As far as I can see, it's a step forward, but impossible to police. No joined up thinking.

Of course not.... words only. Like the Pattaya / Bangkok lockdown... people were going to police stations and government offices to try and get passes for the 'blockades' supposedly preventing movement between zones. In reality, there wasn't any problem traveling.

For #9 since I plan to go to my apartment after the mandatory two-day quarantine of the "no quarantine" plan, I suppose I show the ATK test result to my wife?

Or for the hordes of real tourists and families that arrive and book a private villa they can show it to the pool cleaner?

Maybe you already know :

Maybe check this thread right here. Exactly as I predicted...

What is the meaning of this:

8. Then proceed directly by the approved airport transfer to the pre-arranged COVID-19 test centre

Is there some option to go get a test and wait for the results without having to check into a hotel? Basement of the airport would be a great place to do 1 hour testing IMO.
