I don't think they have much vaccines on order either.

30 million pfeizer vaccines won't even cover 20% of the booster shots they need now.

All this "cheap charlie"  way of ordering vaccines is biting them in the rear

....Yet they keep saying how great there doing.

Jaw dropping incompetence!

It's not only that.

Thailand isn't really hygiene orientated.

Huge markets never have soap or toilet paper in there bathrooms.

Washing hands after taking a duece isn't really a Thai thing.

Chuckle - you don't understand Thai toilets at all, do you! ????

What?

Friday night  lack of editing and proofing allowed to run through to press on Saturday.
The mask probably prevented the editor's brain from functioning properly.

And remember, bring lots of money, even though 80 % of night life will be still banned

80% you say? More like 95% and the risk of being caught/arrested should you violate those crazy curfew rules and bans on gathering.

Among the region’s economies, Thailand is one of the “most dependent” on tourism, with the sector accounting for around 21% of GDP in 2019, according to Sian Fenner from Oxford Economics.

Can not be true, as this they keep announcing economic growth.

that's an unfair comparison - those other mentioned countries had more pens, fax machines and even old telex machines to order vaccines from

And what would the fully vaccinated number be if the sino vac and Sinopharm were not included?

Doesn't matter.

Before tourists are set free to roam around they are negative.  Plus if they are VAXXED, they can't catch or spread covid right?  Trust The Science.

I don't see the sarcasm switch /s

Because no, it's not correct at all.

Please scroll up a few posts and have a look at the Bloomberg link that I had posted.

It is now a thorough and common knowledge that the vaccine does little or nothing to protect you against covid.

The issue is not necessarily those few that might enter the country with covid. Rather, it's all the covid-19 present in Thailand and the tourists that will be swirling about the country.

If I might make a current analogy.

Before we had trillions of dollars being injected into the US economy. This did not bring inflation because there was low velocity. This has in large part changed. Prices are now inflated people pay more for everything so the velocity is far greater.

Similarly, people will be traveling around the country quickly. Therefore, the opportunity to spread the virus rises exponentially.
